🎉 THANK YOU, GBW COMMUNITY! 🎉
Our Boosterthon Fun Run was a HUGE success, raising over $26,000 exceeding our $20,000 goal! We are incredibly grateful to our GBW families, friends, and community for your generosity and support.
Thanks to you, these funds will help support:
🔬 Assemblies – Bringing engaging, hands-on learning experiences to our students 🎬 Community Events – Including Family Night, the I Heart Panda Dance, and One Greenbriar 🎨 Cafeteria Beautification – Creating a brighter, more welcoming space for our GBW students
🎉 AND THE BOOSTERTHON FUN ISN’T OVER YET!
On September 25, we’ll have a students-only celebration during the school day! The PTA will provide snacks for every class that reached a 70% or higher registration rate. 🍿And get the duct tape ready! Because our Pandas crushed their fundraising goal, Mr. Blount and Mrs. Odom will be DUCT TAPED! 😂

Family Night - October 2
Come join us for our very first GBW Family Night! Bring the whole family for an evening of fun, food, and a movie under the stars! 🍿
🎉 The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy games, a photo backdrop, and more! Snacks, food, and drinks will also be available for purchase.
🎥 Movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Bring your chairs and blankets, find a cozy spot, and settle in for the show!
🗳️ WHAT MOVIE WILL WE WATCH? Our students get to decide! They’ll be voting in the upcoming weeks to choose our Family Night movie from:

💵 DON’T FORGET TO BRING CASH! Family Night will be cash only for purchases made at the event. You can purchase your concession tickets ahead of time using the link above to skip the checkout line. Our 6th graders will also be selling glow sticks for cash during Family Night! Grab one and light up the night while supporting our 6th grade students!
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: Family Night is NOT a drop-off event. All students must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the evening. 👮 For added safety, a School Resource Officer will be present in the playground area beginning at sunset.

📚 FIRST PTA ASSEMBLY – SHANNON HALE & MARCELA CESPEDES
The PTA was delighted to kick off the school year by welcoming New York Times bestselling author Shannon Hale and illustrator Marcela Cespedes to GBW for our first assembly of the year!
Shannon Hale is the award-winning author of more than 50 books, including Princess Academy, The Princess in Black, Real Friends, Itty Bitty Kitty-Corn, and Dream On. Her books have sold more than 15 million copies and have been translated into 25 languages worldwide.
Marcela “Mace” Cespedes is an illustrator and graphic designer whose career has spanned advertising, animation, film, and publishing. Originally from Cali, Colombia, her lifelong love of drawing, comics, and storytelling ultimately led her to the world of children’s books and graphic novels.
During the assembly, Shannon and Marcela shared stories from their childhoods, talked about their creative journeys, and spoke candidly about resilience and persevering through challenges. Our GBW students in grades 4–6 were highly engaged and had plenty of thoughtful questions for our guests!
💚 We’re thrilled to be able to bring experiences like this to our students through the support of the GBW PTA and our community. Our next school wide assembly will be BMX riders on Oct. 9th.
