The Liberty Link
Students in Ms. Dombro’s engineering class designed and built protective containers for the egg drop challenge, using creativity, teamwork, and engineering skills to put their designs to the test.
A Note from the Principal
Dear Liberty Families,
We had a busy but productive week at Liberty! Our teachers spent time engaging in professional development, taking time to learn, collaborate, and think about how we can best support our students. I am grateful for the time and energy they put into this work!
As we continue settling into the school year, we are helping students navigate the challenges that come with being part of a middle school community. Our staff continue to work with students on making positive decisions, taking responsibility, and getting back on track when things do not go as planned. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home.
I also want to take a moment to once again encourage families to join our PTA. The PTA is an important part of our school community and helps provide programs and opportunities for our students. You do not need to attend meetings or volunteer at an event to make a difference. Simply becoming a member is a meaningful way to show your support, and we would love to have you involved in whatever way works best for your family.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
-Mrs. Bromberg

Eighth grade Civics students will visit JA Finance Park in next week. Adult volunteers (18 and older) are needed to help make this field trip a success.
Volunteers commit to 4.5 hours, which includes 1 hour of training. Please email your student's Civics teacher to volunteer.
Student Trip Schedule
Student safety in our parking lot is our top priority. Please do not park in the lot and allow your student to walk through traffic. Walking between moving vehicles creates a serious safety risk.
All families dropping off or picking up students by car must use the designated Kiss and Ride lane and follow staff instructions.
Please follow all staff signals to keep traffic moving safely.
If your student plans to ride home on a different bus with a classmate, the school must receive written permission from both families before issuing a bus pass. Both students must show their passes to the driver before boarding.
Submit a handwritten note with your student or email libertymiddle.attendance@fcps.edu.

School is better when your child is here! But we do understand that some days, they may feel unwell. Learn more about which symptoms are ok at school (like sneezing or sniffles), and when your child should stay home (if they have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, for example).
If your child has a chronic illness, make sure to notify the school so that assistance can be provided if needed. Keep an open line of communication with your school public health nurse. Call the school as soon as you know your child will be absent and, if possible, let them know how long you think they will be out.
If you or your family need any kind of support, please reach out to our front office. We are here for you! Visit FCPS’ Attendance webpage for tips and strategies.
