Message from the President
Hello FHS Community!!
Back to School Night is almost here! Stop by the PTSA table to join, check out the baskets for the raffle, or just say “Hi”! Our first meeting is coming up soon, we will vote on the budget for the 2026-2027 School year and discuss upcoming events.
Recently the Program Manager for the Peer Mentoring Program Manager reached out asking for help acquiring donations of candy for the program. This is an important program where Junior and Senior Students mentor and encourage Freshman students during Lion Time, promoting positive connections and relationships and improving school culture. We will be sending out a request for actual in-kind donations,however, if you’d like to donate an amazon gift card for the program, please let me know. Thank you to Sharyn Hunt, MS for sponsoring the program! You can also donate to our No Fuss Fundraiser.
We have the mock SAT coming up this week. While there are online options to practice the SATs, this is a good way to practice in an actual test setting. This will give the students a good idea what to expect when the big test comes. See below for more information:
Mock In-Person SAT and ACT Practice Tests at FHS on Saturday, September 19th!
- SAT from 8:15am to 10:50am
- ACT from 8am to 11:15am
The PTSA academic boosters are partnering with Applerouth Tutoring to offer both the Mock SAT and the Mock ACT on Saturday 9/19. This is a perfect opportunity for students who have not started their testing to become familiar with the format in a stress-free environment at FHS for only $25! Students will receive detailed score reports to help them determine which areas they need to study. Students must bring a fully charged FCPS computer. All Night Grad
SENIOR PARENTS!! I will be having an information session for All Night Grad (ANG) on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7pm. I will give an overview of the event and upcoming fundraiser. We will also be discussing the location for the ANG event itself, some of this will be a repeat of my June meeting with some updates and minus the technical difficulties (I hope).
