Week one was amazing for many reasons, we saw new faces and reconnected with returning students. Our new orientation style presentations went well as students had a chance to set goals and identify key staff they have connected with! Teambuilding events, games and great conversations laid the foundation for our staff to establish genuine connections with students.
At Quander Road School resilience lives and hope is rebuilt every single day with the support of our parents and community members. Every staff member does their best to meet challenges with heart and compassion.
We remain grateful for all of the communication with parents over the last 9 school days! Let's commit to staying in touch. The entire team believes that the impossible is possible when people refuse to give up. Together we are not just a building, we are a community! Thank you all, let's keep going!

- September 23, Wednesday, Principal's Welcome Walk (8:45-10a.m.) You can just walk in!

MAP Testing in September begins 9/14/2026
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) uses the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment strictly as an academic screening and growth tool for Math (grades 1–12) and Reading (grades 9–12)

It's good to be back!
After the first nine days of school I remain excited ! I encourage parents to continue having those important conversations about school expectations, we want our students to show up prepared to work and engage. Continue to listen to your child's concerns and ask what kind of goals they have set.
Remind students that perfect attendance, good grades and honor roll are still opportunities to shine. Every student is encouraged to be his/her own advocate, while respecting the space, time and property of others.
Be an informed consumer, get connected on ParentVue/StudentVue, visit the administrative team at Quander Road School and make sure your student keeps up with the school issued laptop. Parents I hope you will join me for the upcoming Welcome Walks, it's an opportunity to meet me, connect with other parents and have coffee and conversations.
