News from the Wolf Pack

Hello, Wolf Pack!

September is off to a strong start! Our students are settling into their new routines, and our staff looks forward to welcoming you to Back-to-School Night (BTSN) next week.

During BTSN, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, visit their learning spaces, and learn more about what they will experience throughout the school year. Details about the schedule can be found below. Each grade level will offer the same presentation during Session 1 and Session 2, allowing families with children in multiple grade levels to visit more than one classroom.

On September 25, students will participate in an in-school Run-a-thon during the school day, promoting healthy habits, school spirit, and community involvement. Families are invited to make a one-time donation to support the event and help us reach our goal of purchasing new cafeteria tables for Oak Hill. While we know every student will Oak Hill student will participate, we would like every student to register through the PTA website.

Wishing you a restful Labor Day weekend! We look forward to seeing many of you at Movie Night tomorrow.

In partnership,

Kelly Durso, Principal
Shelia Sobeski, Assistant Principal

Labor Day Holidays

Just a reminder that schools will be closed Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th for Labor Day.  Enjoy the long weekend!

Oak Hill ES Back To School Night

Back to School Night will be on September 9th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. There will be two identical sessions to allow for families to attend sessions for more than 1 child.

Locations

Family Life Education (FLE) information will be available to preview in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Student ID Cards for Oak Hill ES  Bus Riders

  • Student ID cards will be distributed to all students who use FCPS transportation services.  Some cards have already been distributed and the rest will be distributed by early next week.
  • ID cards should be worn and brought to the bus each day.
  • Students who have student ID cards should begin tapping as they board and exit the bus.
  • If students have been assigned a bus number at all, they will receive an ID card. If they are not regular bus riders, keep it at home in a safe place in case the need ever arises.

We ask for your patience! Bus drivers are checking in students and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. The transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.

If your child’s bus is delayed, you may access the Bus Delay Notification System or use the Here Comes the Bus mobile app to receive the delayed bus report. Email messages will be sent to announce significant bus delays. Please contact the Transportation Office at 703-249-7000 with any additional questions. For concerns after 5:30 p.m., contact the FCPS Office of Safety and Security at 571-423-2000.

Learn more about the bus navigation and student ID cards.
