Dear Fairfax Villa Community,
What a wonderful first week back! It has been so nice to have everyone together again after summer break.
Throughout the week, our teachers and students have been getting to know one another, reconnecting with friends, and beginning to establish strong classroom routines. We are so proud of the positive energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community we have already seen across the school.
As we look ahead to the coming week, please keep the following dates in mind:

Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th: School will be closed in observance of Labor Day weekend.

Wednesday, September 16th, 6:00–8:00 p.m.: Please mark your calendars for Back to School Night. We look forward to welcoming families into our school and classrooms.

Families can now easily grant consent for their children to access a variety of school resources through the Parent Digital Consent system. This online tool can be accessed using your SIS ParentVUE account login. Parents can easily opt their child in or out of a variety of resources, including online educational tools, school counseling services, and more.

Are you working your way through back-to-school forms and checklists? Make sure you have a SIS ParentVUE account for your family and log in to find important forms and updates.
- Be among the first to know about weather closings, bus delays, and other critical communications from your school and FCPS by providing your cell phone number and email in ParentVUE. To update your contact information in ParentVUE, click the “Online Packets” tab in the upper right of the screen, then click the “Online Verification/Update” icon.
- Submit daylong absences by clicking “Report Absence.”
If you do not have a ParentVUE account, contact your child’s school for an activation code and follow the directions on the SIS ParentVUE Account webpage.
Thank you for your patience as we all get used to new routines this school year. We appreciate our families following Kiss and Ride procedures and being patient while waiting for your child’s bus.
If your child’s bus is delayed, you may access the Bus Delay Notification System or use the Here Comes the Bus mobile app to receive the delayed bus report. Email messages will be sent to announce significant bus delays.
Please contact the Transportation Office at 703-446-2050 with any additional questions. For concerns after 5:30 p.m., contact the FCPS Office of Safety and Security at 571-423-2000.

The PTA plays a vital role in enriching our school community by supporting student programs, organizing family events, providing resources for teachers, and creating meaningful opportunities for families to connect.
Becoming a PTA member is an easy way to make a positive impact—whether you have time to volunteer or simply want to show your support. Every membership strengthens our school community and helps provide valuable experiences for our students.
We encourage all families to join us in making this school year a memorable and successful one for every child!
Families are encouraged to review the updated FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) document, which explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses in order to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment.
Updates for the 2026-27 school year include new Universal Grade Matrices (UGMs).
UGMs are charts that show behavior expectations and school responses by grade level (K-3, 4-8, and 9-12).
These at-a-glance resources (in Appendix D of the SR&R) are designed to make it easier for parents and caregivers to understand how schools respond to different types of behavior concerns.
