No School - Labor Day Holidays
Friday, September 4, and Monday, September 7, are Labor Day holidays for all FCPS employees and students. Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day. We hope everyone takes the long weekend to celebrate a strong start to the school year and enjoy time with family and friends. See the complete school year calendar.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!
The beginning of the school year is the best time to develop strong attendance habits! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time. Help prepare your child for future success. Visit the FCPS Attendance web page for tips and strategies.

Capture the Memories!
Join Our Team as Yearbook & Picture Day Coordinator
Our school community thrives on parents who bring energy, creativity, and heart to our annual traditions—and right now, we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead one of our most cherished projects!
We are looking for a Yearbook & Picture Day Coordinator to help capture the moments that make this school year unforgettable.
What You’ll Do:
-
Picture Day Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for our photography vendor to help ensure photo days run smoothly.
-
Yearbook Designer & Curator: Gather photos, organize page layouts using user-friendly software, and coordinate book sales.
-
Memory Maker: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the PTA board to make sure every student gets their moment in the spotlight.
Why You’ll Love It:
-
Flexible Schedule: Most layout and organizational work can be done from home on your own time.
-
Creative Freedom: Put your personal spin on the book's theme, cover, and special feature pages.
-
Built-in Support: You won’t be doing this alone! You'll have past yearbooks as templates, vendor support reps, and a team of parents ready to submit photos and help out.
Whether you're a photography enthusiast, a organizational pro, or simply someone who loves seeing the kids' faces light up when they get their yearbooks, this role is a incredibly rewarding way to get involved.
