What a joyful first week we have had at Vienna Elementary School! It has been wonderful to see students engaged in learning, connecting with one another, and building relationships with their teachers. The joy and excitement throughout the school have been truly special.

Thank you to the families who attended our Family Information Session on Tuesday. We appreciated the opportunity to share information and connect with you as we begin this school year together.

As a reminder, for everyone’s safety, students should not ride bikes, scooters, or e-bikes on the blacktop next to the school after dismissal. This area is being used by students for play, and riding creates an unsafe situation.

We look forward to another fantastic week with our students and families!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Condra and Amber Burnett

Red and black gradient background with white writing 'Welcome our new parent liason'

Hello, Vienna Elementary families!

My name is Patricia “Trish” Cochran, and I’m excited to serve as your new Family Liaison. I’ve been a parent at VES for the past eight years (and counting!), and I’m truly passionate about this school and our community.

As Family Liaison, I’m here to help connect families with school staff, information, community resources, and opportunities to be involved in their children’s education. I’m also here to welcome and support families who are new to our school community. Most importantly, I want every family to feel welcomed, supported, valued, and connected.

I look forward to getting to know more of you and partnering together to make Vienna Elementary School an even stronger community. Please feel free to say hello or reach out anytime at pmcochran@fcps.edu.

CELLPHONE POLICY

Red and black gradient background with white writing 'Updated Cellphone policy'

Updated Cellphone Policy: No Phones, Smartwatches or Devices During the School Day

Across all grade levels, cellphones, cellphone accessories, and all smart devices must be off and personally stored for the duration of the school day. Watches that serve a dual purpose (like a smartwatch) must be off and personally stored for the duration of the school day, too. Personal devices that connect to a cellphone or cellphone accessory or operate as a smart device must also follow the FCPS Cellphone Policy.

STUDENT ID CARDS

Red and black gradient with 'student ID cards' in white writing

We will begin distributing student ID cards to all our students who ride the school bus or use FCPS transportation services next week.

ID cards should be worn or attached to your child’s backpack and brought to the bus each day. Students who have student ID cards should begin tapping as they board and exit the bus. Only students who use FCPS transportation services will be provided with a student ID card at this time.

We ask for your patience! Bus drivers are checking in students and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. The transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.

Learn more about the bus navigation and student ID cards.
