We look forward to seeing our families this Wednesday, September 2, for Back-to-School Night! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about what to expect this school year, ways you can be involved in your child’s classroom, and the learning that will take place throughout the year.
There will be two sessions: 6:00–6:30 p.m. and 6:50–7:20 p.m. Both sessions will share the same information. We offer two sessions to allow families with multiple children at SVES to visit more than one classroom and to provide flexibility in selecting the session that best fits your evening schedule.
Our specialists and resource teachers will also be available throughout the evening, including during the transition break, should you wish to connect with them and learn more about their support.
In addition to the information shared by your child’s teacher, FCPS Back-to-School Night slides are available for your review. They include important updates and information to help kick off a great school year.
Please enter through the cafeteria entrance, Door 2. The cafeteria doors will open at 5:40 p.m., and classrooms will open at 5:50 p.m.
Mr. Stewart, our School-Based Technology Specialist (SBTS), leads our SVTV program with students. Be sure to check out the SVTV Weekly Report; it’s always a highlight of the week!
Happy Sunday!

We will distribute student ID cards on Monday afternoon to all students who ride the school bus or use FCPS transportation services.
ID cards will be attached to lanyards and should be worn around students’ necks. Please make sure students have their cards each morning when they board the bus. Once at school, cards should be stored in students’ backpacks or another teacher-designated location and put back on before dismissal.
Students who have student ID cards should begin tapping as they board and exit the bus. Only students who use FCPS transportation services will be provided with a student ID card at this time.
We ask for your patience! Bus drivers are checking in students and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. The transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.
Learn more about the bus navigation and student ID cards.
