New Bus Badges for PreK–2 Students: Tap on, Tap off

Dear Bailey's Families,

Starting on Thursday, August 27th, all PreK through 2nd-grade bus riders will receive a county provided bus badge and lanyard to use when traveling to and from school. When getting on the bus, students will tap their badge on the bus driver’s tablet to record their bus attendance before sitting down. Once arriving to school, students will tap their badge, again, to exit the bus and record they have made it safely to school.

During the school day, classroom teachers will safely store all bus badges until afternoon dismissal. When afternoon buses have arrived, all bus riders will receive their bus badge to follow the above tap-on, tap-off process as they transition from school to their drop off location.

If your child happens to lose or forget their badge, bus drivers can manually log them in and out, so every child remains accounted for and safe.

Thank you for your partnership and support as we increase countywide safety practices for continuous improvement purposes!
