🔔Bell Schedule
Our first bell rings at 9:05 AM. At this time, doors open for students. Kiss and Ride is staffed and supervised to support student arrival from 9:05 AM until 9:20 AM.
Our second bell rings at 9:20 AM. At this time, our breakfast line closes and teachers take attendance. Students who arrive after 9:20 AM must enter Door 1 with an adult and sign in at the main office.
Reminder: Cell Phone & Device Policy
To support a focused learning environment, personal electronic devices—including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops—are not permitted during the school day.
All personal devices must be turned off and kept in your student’s backpack.
Personal devices include, but are not limited to:
• Personal laptops
• Personal tablets
• Smartphones
• Smartwatches
• Other personal electronic communication or computing devices
If your child needs to contact you during the school day, they can use the phone in the main office. If you need to get an urgent message to your student, please call our main office directly at 703-326-5200. Thank you for your support!
🏫 Student Arival Logistics Reminders:
SACC: Families dropping off at SACC, enter the bus loop along the field. There are parking spots close to Door 10 for SACC drop off and pick up.
The bus loop is closed to all car traffic from 8:50 AM until 9:20 AM and from 3:50 PM until 4:20 PM.
Walkers: Remain on sidewalks. There is a crossing guard assigned to the crosswalk located at the Kiss and Ride exit. Remember, crossing guards do not direct traffic. All walkers will enter the building through Door 1 or Door 7.
Bike Riders: Remind students riding their bikes to school to wear their helmets, remain on sidewalks, and to cross at intersections. The temporary bike racks are no longer along Powells Tavern. The new bike racks are located in front of the playground. Bike riders will enter the building through Door 7.
Kiss & Ride: Kiss and Ride is a one way loop located in the parking lot facing the playground. It is one lane that is the length of the yellow curb along the library side of our school pictured below. Students are to remain in the car until the first bell rings at 9:05 AM. Staff will be present for supervision from 9:05 AM until 9:20 AM.
- Kindergarteners and Preschoolers who arrive through Kiss and Ride will enter Door 5.
- Students in preschool and grades 1-6 who arrive through Kiss and Ride will enter Door 7 past the playground.
 Kiss and Ride Loop and Sidewalk to Door 7
Kiss and Ride is a one way, one lane loop. Please remain in your car. Staff will be present to supervise students exiting cars curbside between 9:05 AM and 9:20 AM.
 Bus Loop Exit - Do Not Enter
Our bus loop is one way at all times. The entrance is along the field.
Families dropping off for SACC will enter the bus loop along the field. There are parking spots close to the SACC entrance at Door 10.
The bus loop is closed to car traffic between 8:50 AM and 9:20 AM and between 3:50 PM and 4:20 PM.
Additional Safety and Neighborly Reminders
⚠️ Allow extra time and watch for students walking and riding their bikes to school. Be mindful of the speed limit and buses stopped to pick up students.
🅿️ Park in designated spaces. Do not block neighbors driveways, mailboxes, or park in no parking zones.
🚸 A crossing guard is stationed at the crosswalk closest to Kiss and Ride (crossing guards do not and cannot direct traffic).
🐕🦺 Only service animals are permitted on school property.
💙 Be patient and kind. Our children are watching, listening, and learning from us.
