Hello Lake Anne Family,
The excitement is in the air, and we are so ready to welcome our students back to Lake Anne Elementary on Monday!
It was wonderful seeing so many of you at Open House this week. Our halls and classrooms were filled with familiar faces, smiles, and the energy that makes the start of a new school year so special. We loved watching students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and begin getting ready for another incredible year together.
As we begin this new school year, we are excited to continue building a Lake Anne community grounded in our Core Beliefs of Rigor, Relationships, and Respect. These beliefs guide the way we learn, grow, and care for one another, and we look forward to seeing them come to life in classrooms and throughout our school each day.

We want to remind our families how important it is for our dolphins to arrive on time each day. Instruction begins promptly at 8:50 a.m., and it’s important that students are here and ready to learn from the very start of the day. School doors open at 8:35 a.m., allowing plenty of time for students to get settled in their classrooms before learning begins.
If you need to pick up your dolphin early, please remember to bring a photo ID with you. This helps us ensure the safety of all our students.

Recordatorios sobre la llegada y la salida temprana
Queremos recordarles a nuestras familias lo importante que es que nuestros delfines lleguen a tiempo cada día. La instrucción comienza puntualmente a las 8:50 a.m., y es fundamental que los estudiantes estén aquí y listos para aprender desde el inicio del día. Las puertas de la escuela se abren a las 8:35 a.m., lo que les da tiempo suficiente para acomodarse en sus salones antes de que empiece el aprendizaje.

On Monday, your child will come home with a white First Day Folder. Please review the information included in the folder and return the appropriate forms as soon as possible. We ask that emergency care forms be returned by Tuesday, August 25, and all remaining forms by Friday, August 28.

Kiss & Ride Reminders

All families who plan to use Kiss & Ride at any point this year must complete this google form. Families who used Kiss & Ride last year still need to register again and will be given a new number.

If you already submitted the form but haven’t received your packet, please stop by the front office to pick it up and sign the Kiss & Ride contract.

You will find the latest events calendar for our school and PTA sponsored events. You can scan the included QR code on the calendar and subscribe to the calendar to make it easier to follow.
The PTA will be providing a school t-shirt to every student at Lake Anne. All 6th graders are invited to enter their original designs for the t-shirt.
New Student Device Requirement
Starting this school year, students may only use FCPS-issued devices for school-related digital activities during the instructional day. This is in accordance with a new School Board requirement, approved on July 16, which states that students may not use personal electronic communication or computing devices, including personal laptops, tablets, smartwatches, smartphones, and similar devices.
Students may only use a personal device if it is required as part of a necessary accommodation in their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Plan. A principal or the principal’s designee may approve a limited, course-specific exception for students enrolled in a specialized class when the curriculum requires a technology tool or software that isn’t available on a standard FCPS-issued device.
Families can help support this requirement by reminding students to bring their FCPS-issued device each day and use it for all school-related digital activities unless an approved exception applies.
Nuevo requerimiento para el uso de dispositivos electrónicos.
A partir de este año escolar, los estudiantes sólo deberán utilizar los dispositivos proporcionados por FCPS para realizar actividades digitales relacionadas con sus clases durante la jornada escolar. Este requerimiento responde a una nueva disposición de la Junta Escolar aprobada el 16 de julio, que establece que los estudiantes no podrán utilizar dispositivos electrónicos personales de comunicación o computación, como computadoras portátiles, tabletas, relojes inteligentes,teléfonos celulares u otros dispositivos similares.
Los estudiantes solo podrán utilizar un dispositivo personal cuando sea necesario como parte de un ajuste establecido en su Programa Educativo Individualizado (IEP) o Plan de la Sección 504. La dirección de la escuela, o la persona que ésta designe, también podrá autorizar una excepción limitada para un curso específico cuando un estudiante esté inscrito en una clase especializada cuyo currículo requiera una herramienta tecnológica o un programa que no esté disponible en los dispositivos estándar proporcionados por FCPS.
Las familias pueden apoyar el cumplimiento de este requisito recordándoles a los estudiantes que lleven todos los días a la escuela su dispositivo proporcionado por FCPS y que lo utilicen para todas las actividades digitales relacionadas con sus clases, a menos que cuenten con una excepción aprobada.

New Student ID Cards and Bus Navigation System
FCPS is launching a new bus navigation system, which includes student ID cards for students who ride the bus. Students will use the cards to tap on and off the bus, helping FCPS and families know exactly which students are riding which buses.

Nuevas credenciales de identificación para estudiantes y sistema de navegación de autobusesFCPS está implementando un nuevo sistema de navegación para los autobuses escolares.
