Our Broncos, Our Moments, Our Story
☀️ Learning, leading, and planning together! Over the summer, members of our Brookfield team attended the FCPS Region 5 Kickoff, where we collaborated with Region 5 leaders and colleagues from other schools.
Together, we deepened our understanding of Professional Learning Communities, explored this year’s Region 5 focus areas, and considered how clear learning targets can strengthen learning for students, teachers, and leaders. We left energized, aligned, and ready to bring our learning back to Brookfield for an incredible 2026–2027 school year! 💙💛🐴

A Message from Our Admin Team
Dear Brookfield Families,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful and relaxing summer! Although this is not yet our official welcome-back newsletter, we wanted to share a few important dates and give you a quick look at what is ahead.
Our staff, custodians, construction teams, and other partners have been working incredibly hard throughout the summer to prepare our building for the 2026–2027 school year. A great deal of construction and preparation is underway, and we look forward to sharing more information about our renovated spaces and the upcoming school year in the weeks ahead.
We miss our Brookfield families dearly and cannot wait to welcome everyone back! In the meantime, please mark your calendars for the events below.
Virtual PTA Meeting — Tuesday, August 4
Our PTA will host a virtual meeting tomorrow, August 4, at 7 p.m. Families are invited to join us to learn about the wonderful things happening at Brookfield. The meeting will include a PTA Board vote, upcoming events, updates from Principal Hassen, and time for feedback and questions. We hope you will join us!
New Family Orientation — Thursday, August 13
Families who are new to Brookfield are invited to attend our New Family Orientation on Thursday, August 13, from 12–1 p.m. This will be an opportunity to learn more about Brookfield, meet members of our school team, and become familiar with our school community.
Chantilly Pyramid Magic School Bus — Thursday, August 13
The Magic School Bus will visit several Brookfield locations to distribute school supplies to students:
- Brookfield ES Parking Lot: 5:30–6 p.m.
- Chantilly Mews: 6:45–7:05 p.m.
- Fields of Chantilly: 7:15–7:45 p.m.
Brookfield will also distribute school supplies during Open House for families who are unable to attend the Magic School Bus event.
Brookfield Open House — Friday, August 21
Because parking will be limited due to construction, Open House will take place according to the following staggered schedule:
- 12–1 p.m.: Last names A–G
- 1–2 p.m.: Last names H–O
- 2–3 p.m.: Last names P–Z
Classrooms for students in PreK through second grade will be located in the main building. Students in grades 3–6 will visit their classrooms in Broncoville. Resource tables will be available in the cafeteria, and families will have an opportunity to meet teachers and drop off school supplies.
More information will be shared as we get closer to the start of school. Until then, we hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer. We cannot wait to see our Broncos again soon!

We are thrilled to welcome our newest Broncos and their families to Brookfield for New Family Orientation on Thursday, August 13, from 12-1 p.m. Families will have an opportunity to take a brief tour of the school, meet some of our staff members, and enjoy popsicles with our PTA on the playground. We hope to see you there!

Nos complace darles la bienvenida a Brookfield a nuestros nuevos Broncos y sus familias durante la Orientación para Familias Nuevas, el jueves 13 de agosto, de 12 a 1 p. m. Chantilly Pyramid Magic School Bus - Thursday, August 13
On Thursday, August 13, Chantilly Pyramid Schools will be riding a Magic School Bus to distribute school supplies to our students.
The Magic School Bus will be making stops at the following Brookfield locations at the following times:
- Brookfield ES Parking Lot- 5:30-6 p.m.
- Chantilly Mews- 6:45-7:05 p.m.
- Fields of Chantilly- 7:15-7:45 p.m.
Brookfield will also be distributing school supplies to our students at our Open House Event on Friday, August 21, for those unable to join for the Magic School Bus. We want to make sure everyone has what they need to learn this year!

We are excited to welcome our students and families to our 26-27 Brookfield Open House! Mark your calendars for Friday, August 21, 2026.
We have staggered the times due to limited parking.

1-2 p.m. Last Names H-O
2-3 p.m. Last Names P-Z
Parking will be limited due to construction. Classrooms for students in grades PreK-2nd are in the main building, and students in grades 3-6 are in Broncoville.
Resource tables will be set up in the cafeteria, and there will be a chance to meet your teachers and drop off your supplies.

A Message from the Health Room
Greetings from your school Health Room! Our Health Room team is excited to partner with you in supporting the health and well-being of your student. Our goal is to help every student stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn. The Health Room team is here to provide care for illness or injury during the school day, assist in managing health conditions, administer medications as needed, screen hearing and vision as indicated, and promote healthy habits. We value strong communication with families. Please keep us informed of any health concerns or medical needs your child may have so we can support them effectively throughout the school year.
How can you help us provide the best possible care for your student?
Does your student require a special diet?

If your student requires a modified diet and will eat school meals, please refer to the Steps to Request Dietary Accommodations. Forms are available for students who require medical dietary accommodations and those who cannot drink cow’s milk and need milk substitutes. Also, if your student currently receives a dietary accommodation and it is no longer needed, there are also steps to discontinue the current accommodation.
Has your student had a head injury at home?
Has your student had an injury at home that may impact their physical activity at school?
Does your student have a medical condition, require medication during the school day, or need a health care procedure?

If your student has a seizure disorder (epilepsy), please have your student’s health care provider complete the FCPS Authorization for Seizure Action Plan (SS/SE-385) and return it to the school public health nurse (PHN). This includes authorization for seizure rescue medications and procedures that may be required during the school day.

If medication must be administered during the school day, please follow the guidelines established in the current version of FCPS Regulation 2102.

- Bring your student’s medications to the health room during open house or during the school year. If it’s a prescribed medication, keep the medication in its original container with the pharmacy label. We can only accept a 30-day supply. If it's an over-the-counter medication, please provide a new unopened bottle with no more than 100 pills.
Thank you for partnering with us to help keep all FCPS students healthy, safe, and ready to learn. We look forward to working with you throughout the school year.
