Welcome Walk Survey

As we continue to plan and refine school events, we are seeking your valuable input on our annual Welcome Walk. Your feedback is important as we plan and ensure our activities are both engaging and safe for everyone involved.

We recognize the Welcome Walk is a valued tradition in our community, and as we consider next steps, we are weighing several factors — including community and staff feedback, our continued enrollment growth, opportunities to connect with families, risk management and liability, and the growing demands on staff during the critical days leading up to the first day of school and Open House preparation.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could complete the brief survey by Friday, July 24, 2026. Thank you for your time and continued support.

2026-2027 School Supply Pre-Order Information

Good News! School Supply Kit Ordering Has Been Extended! If you missed the original deadline, there's still time!

We've extended online ordering through July 31, giving families one last opportunity to purchase a school supply kit with the teacher-requested supplies for the upcoming school year. Kits ordered during the extension will still be delivered to the school before the start of classes.

Don’t forget, one of the biggest perks of ordering a supply kit is the all-year instant replacement headphone guarantee. If your student’s headphones break during the year, instant replacements are available in the office. No downtime, no learning interruptions and no need to buy a new set of headphones.

Extended Deadline: July 31

Order here: www.campussurvivalkits.com/cubrun

Don't miss this final opportunity to check school supply shopping off your to-do list!

Kiss & Ride Vehicle Tag

If you have a child attending Cub Run next year who was in Kiss & Ride this year, please keep your tag in a safe place for the summer. Your family will continue to have the same number and this will avoid re-printing the tags in the fall.

Early Release Wednesdays for the 2026-27 School Year

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number of days has been reduced from eight to four.

Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.

Please view the dates for Cub Run's early release Wednesdays below:

  • October 21
  • December 2
  • February 10
  • May 5

Visit the FCPS website for more information about early release Wednesdays.
