Open House
Thursday, August 20 - 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Join us for Open House as we kick off another exciting school year! Families are invited to visit the school, find their child's classroom, meet their teacher, drop off school supplies, and reconnect with friends before the first day of school. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Rolling Valley and helping students start the year feeling confident and excited!
Back to School Night
Wednesday, September 9 - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Back to School Night is an important opportunity for parents and guardians to connect with teachers and learn more about the year ahead. During the evening, teachers will share grade level curriculum, classroom expectations, communication methods, student supports, and ways families can partner with us to ensure a successful school year. We hope you will join us as we begin another year of learning together!
RVES School Supplies
As we prepare for another exciting school year, now is a great time to begin gathering school supplies! Grade level supply lists are available on our school website. Having supplies ready before the first day helps students start the year organized and ready to learn.
If your family needs assistance obtaining school supplies, please don't hesitate to contact our school office. We are here to help and want to ensure every student has everything they need for a successful start to the school year.
Early Release Wednesdays
2026-2027

Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.

Summer Resources
Help Students Stay Curious, Healthy, and Busy
The FCPS Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.
Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.
Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation and Neither Does Fun! The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
FCPS Summer Learning Resources are now available for students and families. Resources are organized by grade level and provide opportunities for students to review previously taught concepts, practice skills, and explore new ideas throughout the summer.
Families can access the resources at any time as one of many ways to support continued learning and engagement over the summer.
Additional resources will continue to be added throughout June.
