 A Message from Ms. Kirkland
Dear Families,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer! While school may be out, there is still plenty happening at Mount Eagle.
Our school garden is in full bloom! The basil is flourishing, and our tomatoes should be ready to pick in the next few weeks. A special thank you to the families who came out to help water the garden during last week's heat wave. Your time and care are helping our garden thrive!
Inside the building, our custodial team has been working incredibly hard to prepare our school for the new year. From deep cleaning classrooms to completing summer projects, they are making sure Mount Eagle is ready to welcome students back in August.
As you continue enjoying the summer, be sure to mark these important dates on your calendar:
-
Friday, August 21: Open House from 9:00–10:00 AM
-
Monday, August 24: First Day of School!
Until then, stay cool, stay safe, and continue making wonderful summer memories. We can't wait to welcome everyone back and hear all about your summer adventures!
Warmly,
Kate Kirkland, Principal

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.
Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

Your Partners in Education
We are honored to start the school year with your family, and will work everyday to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for your child. We can't do it alone. Please contact us when there is a question or concern, especially related to bullying. As a parent, you will often hear about something before staff might. Thank you for all of your support.
