July 20 through 24:  Third week of Money Camp

Oak Hill ES Money Camp

The first week of Money Camp is off to a great start! The kids are having a blast learning about where money goes and creating products for our market. Money Camp

Camp is open to rising 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th graders.

Times: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Session 2:  July 13th through 17th
Session 3: July 20th through 24th

Cost: $320 per week

Students will learn ecomomic concepts through real-life simulations, create and sell a product at our market day, get a job, pay bills, balance a budget, and learn where money really comes from.

Summer Garden Help

The school garden and courtyard are flourishing, but help is needed with watering and weeding! Sign up for a time to help at this link.

Family Vision Group

One More Oak Hill Representative Needed

Oak Hill still needs one more parent volunteer for the Superintendent's Family Vision Group.  This group provides a forum for elevating family voice and strengthening connections across the division.  More information about the group is below.  If you are interested in volunteering for this group, please email Kelly Durso at kldurso@fcps.edu by July 10th. Thank you for considering this opportunity.

  • The Superintendent’s Family Vision Group meets six times in person, all sessions held in the evening, from 6-7:30pm.
  • Tentative Meeting Schedule for 2026–27:All meetings are subject to change in accordance with division-wide priorities and scheduling adjustments as needed.
    • Kickoff - Wednesday, September 9 -Location TBD
    • Meeting #1- Wednesday, September 16 or Wednesday, September 23-Location TBD
    • Meeting #2- Wednesday, November 4-Location TBD
    • Meeting #3- Wednesday, January 13, 2027-Location TBD
    • Meeting #4-Wednesday, March 3, 2027- Location TBD
    • Full Group Wrap-Up-Wednesday, May 5, 2027- Location TBD
  • Representatives are expected to attend all meetings whenever possible

Summer Office Hours

Summer office hours are 9 am to 2 pm. If you need to come by outside of those times, please call the office at 703-467-3500 before you come to make sure someone is available to assist you.

Are you able to spend some time helping in the school garden this summer? Click here to sign up for a day or more to come water and weed in the back garden and the courtyard garden. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you after signing up. Any help is appreciated to keep the garden in shape until the kids return!

2026-2027 School Supplies! 

Oak Hill PTA is offering the convenience of pre-purchasing a school supply kit from Campus Survival Kits.  Order deadline is July 15th. Orders can be placed at www.campussurvivalkits.com/oakhill. The school supply kits will be delivered to the school in August and will be available in your classroom at Open House.

Prices are as follows: 

Kindergarten: $63
1st grade: $56
2nd grade: $67
3rd grade: $65
4th grade: $74
5th grade: $66
6th grade: $58

The school supply lists are also available on the Oak Hill ES website and in the school office. If you need financial assistance with school supplies, please contact our counselor Mr. Mitchell at asmitchell@fcps.edu

Open House will be August 20th.

Oak Hill's Open House for the 2026-2027 School Year will be Thursday, August 20th in the afternoon.  Specific times and details will be sent in August.

Early Release Wednesdays

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. Oak Hill's Early Release Wednesdays are:

  • October 21

  • December 2

  • February 10

  • May 5
