Dear Families,
The Superintendent's Family Vision Group is a vital forum for elevating family voice, strengthening school-community partnerships, and ensuring meaningful engagement with families across FCPS. This initiative by Fairfax County Public Schools is designed to engage families, students, and community members in open dialogues about student success and the future of the school division.
The group collaborates directly with district leadership to shape school culture, foster multilingual and inclusive environments, and address community goals. Meetings typically feature collaborative discussions, updates on strategic initiatives, and direct Q&A sessions with the Superintendent.
In accordance with Dr. Reid's directive, every school is expected to maintain full representation in the group. If you would like to serve as one of the two representatives for Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, please contact me by email, MVega1@fcps.edu. This is a one year commitment

August 21 - Open House for students and families, bus transportation will be provided 9:30 - 11:30
August 24 - FIRST Day of School
September 4 - 7 - Labor Day Holiday, No School
September 21 - Yom Kippur Holiday, No School

EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAYS
12:30 P.M. Dismissal for all students
All students will be released at 12:30 p.m. on the following four dates for the 2026 - 2027 school year in order to provide school staff with professional development opportunities.

🍽️Summer Meals for Students
Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on site while eating their meals.
This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.
Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

FCPS’ Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.
Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.
Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation and Neither Does Fun!
The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
