In this webinar, explore both new and existing resources designed to support the military-connected spouse community, including spouses of all sponsor statuses. Getting to Know Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS): A Military Family Orientation 

Thursday, July 9, 2026, and
Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Military families new to FCPS or moving to FCPS soon may attend this interactive presentation. Families will learn about:

  • FCPS programs, school staff, and digital resources
  • Strategies to support student success
  • Early enrollment for military families
  • The Military Interstate Compact

This virtual presentation will be held via Zoom on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. Please fill out the Military GTK registration form to sign up and receive the Zoom link.

Blue Star Families'
Back-to-School Military Fair 

Saturday,
August 1, 2026

 

While summer is in full swing, it’s never too early to start preparing for the upcoming school year!

Blue Star Families and FCPS invite you to join our Back-to-School Military Fair on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at West Springfield High School (6100 Rolling Rd, West Springfield, VA 22152).

FCPS and community resources will be available to families, and school supplies will be provided for students in all grade levels. Please note there is a limited amount of supplies.

This opportunity is open to Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Veteran families. Parents and students must attend the event in person to receive the school supplies. Please visit Blue Star Families to register.


Summer Meals

Summer Meals for Students

No-cost meals are provided throughout the summer on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on site while eating their meals.

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.

Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.
