A Message from Principal Crews

Dear Hollin Meadows School Community,

As we close another wonderful school year and begin summer break, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for helping make this year such a success.

Our Hornets have worked incredibly hard and have shown tremendous growth throughout the year. We have celebrated many academic accomplishments as students strengthened their skills in reading, mathematics, and other areas of learning. Just as importantly, our students continued to grow socially and emotionally, building positive relationships and developing the skills needed to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

Throughout the year, our Hornets demonstrated our core expectations of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. These values helped create a positive learning environment where all students could thrive. As summer begins, I encourage our students to continue showing Respect, Responsibility, and Safety at home, in the community, and wherever their summer adventures may take them.

To help maintain the wonderful progress made this year, I encourage all students to read for at least 20 minutes each day. Summer is also a great time to visit our local libraries, explore new books, and participate in summer reading programs that keep learning fun and engaging.

Thank you to our families for your partnership, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the year. Your involvement plays a vital role in the success of our students and school community. We are also grateful for the dedication of our outstanding staff members, whose commitment and care help make Hollin Meadows such a special place to learn and grow.

I wish all of our Hornet families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. Thank you for a fantastic school year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall!

With gratitude,

Principal Jasibi Crews

Provide Feedback on Secondary Mathematics Instructional Resource

FCPS will adopt new mathematics instructional resources for Math 6 (middle school only) through Algebra 2 for the 2026-27 school year. A review committee composed of community members, administrators, and teachers met to review materials submitted by vendors. The public is invited to review and provide feedback on the proposed resource.

Access the proposed resource for middle school Math 6 through Algebra 2 in person or on the Mathematics Basal Resource webpage from Saturday, June 13, to Sunday, July 12. Those reviewing instructional materials will provide feedback through a digital form. All community feedback will be shared with the review committee and the Fairfax County School Board before a board vote in July.

Hard copies of instructional materials will be available for review at Willow Oaks Welcome Center, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you need to review materials outside of these hours, please email MathBasalReview@fcps.edu.
