Happy Summer, Dolphins! 

As another wonderful school year comes to a close, we wish all of our Lake Anne families a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer break! Thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. We hope your summer is filled with fun, family, and plenty of opportunities to read, explore, and make lasting memories.

Summer Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Office Closure: Please note that the school office will be closed from June 29 through July 3. Messages and emails received during that time will be returned when the office reopens.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great year in the fall. Have a wonderful summer!

School Supplies

Summer Meals for Students

Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on site while eating their meals.

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.

Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

Third Annual FCPS Puzzle Hunt Encourages Active Family Fun

The Solving Fun Puzzle Pals have been busy getting ready for the 3rd Annual Fairfax County Public Schools Puzzle Hunt, and it kicks off in only three weeks!

This free event is open to solvers of all ages and is a great way to keep students and families engaged in fun, creative problem-solving over the summer. It also teaches bike and pedestrian safety and encourages active transportation.

New this year: The school with the most solvers will win a special visit from Sue Doku! Sign up for the Puzzle Hunt!

FCPS family information phone lines are available in nine different languages. An FCPS employee will respond to your call in your preferred language within 24 hours, Monday through Friday.

Free Summer Events

The Herndon Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of free family-friendly events throughout the summer! Opportunities include Town Square Tuesdays with live music and lawn games, Farmers Market Fun Days, Juneteenth celebrations, Play All Day VA activities, Fourth of July festivities, and more. Families can also explore 11 local parks and enjoy free admission to the Herndon Community Center during select events.

Camp On The Go is a free drop-in program offered by Herndon Parks & Recreation. Children can enjoy games,crafts, activities, and special visits from community partners throughout the summer.

Elementary-aged children 5-12
Rain Plan:
Camp will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
No sign-up, no cost—just come to the park and have fun!

WaterWise

Looking for a great way to keep your child active and safe this summer? Herndon Parks & Recreation is offering the WaterWise Kids Summer Swim Program for students entering grades K–6. This program provides opportunities for children to build confidence in the water, develop swimming skills, and learn important water safety practices.
