6th grade

A special day for our 6th graders! Congratulations on your promotion and best wishes as you begin the next exciting chapter. We are so proud of you! 🎓

Dear Woodburn Families,

As we close another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your partnership, support, and trust. This year, our students demonstrated incredible growth academically, socially, and emotionally, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.

Our theme, #TogetherWeGrow, reminds us that success is built through collaboration, perseverance, and a shared commitment to helping every child thrive. Thank you for being an important part of that journey.

As summer begins, I encourage our students to continue reading, exploring, creating, and enjoying time with family and friends. We hope this summer provides opportunities for rest, fun, and new adventures.

Please note that the Woodburn office will be open throughout the summer from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. should you need assistance.

"Growth is the result of small steps taken every day. When we learn together, support one another, and believe in ourselves, amazing things happen."

Thank you for a fantastic year. We wish all of our Woodburn families a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer and look forward to welcoming you back in August.

#TogetherWeGrow

Warmly,

Kanchana Iyer Principal

Kindergarten Registration Is Open

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:

  1. Determine eligibility.
  2. Identify your local school.
  3. Gather documents.
  4. Fill out forms.
  5. Schedule an appointment (the student and one caregiver must be present).

If your student does live in the Woodburn ES boundary, please fill out the new student registration intake form. This form will be submitted to our school registrar, Jackie Garcia, who will be able to assist you with the new student registration process.

Calendar Survey

FCPS values your input as we plan future school calendars. On Friday, June 5, all caregivers and FCPS staff will receive an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey.

Your feedback matters. Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.

If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation
