A Message from Principal Harris
Dear Frost Middle School Families,
As we come to the close of another incredible school year, we are filled with gratitude and pride as we reflect on all that our Frost community has accomplished together. This year, our faculty and staff embraced the theme "Anchored in Learning… As We Set Sail for Success." Throughout the year, this theme served as a reminder that meaningful journeys require both a strong foundation and a shared vision.
At the start of the year, our staff was reminded that just as a ship needs a strong anchor to remain grounded, our students need the stability of caring relationships, consistent routines, and rigorous instruction. Every day, our teachers and staff members served as that anchor for our students, providing encouragement, guidance, and support. And just as every successful voyage depends upon the collaboration and strength of a crew working toward a shared destination, our success this year has come from the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families working together.
As we look back on this school year, it is clear that our Frost community remained firmly anchored in learning while continuously setting sail toward new achievements and opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of our students' academic accomplishments this year. Across all SOL testing subject areas, our students demonstrated excellent performance and growth, reflecting their hard work, perseverance, and dedication to learning. We also saw strong results on the music department assessments, World Language PALS assessments, continued improvement in WIDA growth measures for our Multilingual Learners, and meaningful gains across several key assessments for our Students with Disabilities. These accomplishments demonstrate our commitment to ensuring every student has opportunities to thrive and succeed.
Our literacy efforts also experienced tremendous success this year. Through focused instruction, collaboration, and intentional support for students, we celebrated significant growth and achievement. We are proud to share that Frost met or exceeded the goals and benchmarks outlined in our School Innovation and Improvement Plan. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our students and staff and reinforce what can happen when a community remains committed to excellence.
Beyond the classroom, Frost also received important recognition for our work in supporting students and strengthening our school culture. We were recently recognized as a District Leader in Restorative Justice practices, highlighting our commitment to building strong relationships and fostering a sense of belonging among all students. Additionally, we are proud of our work as an FCPS Inclusion Phase Two school, affirming our continued dedication to ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and included.
Our students also shined brightly in athletics, the arts, and academic competitions. We celebrate our Cross Country and Track & Field teams for an outstanding year, with special recognition to our incredible Girls' Championship teams in both sports categories. We are also proud of our Science Olympiad participants, whose hard work and dedication represented Frost with excellence.
The arts continued to flourish this year as our students earned numerous accolades and awards through Theater, Art, Chorus, Orchestra, and Band. Their performances, talent, and commitment brought pride and joy to our entire school community.
As we reflect on this year's journey, we are reminded that every successful voyage requires strong anchors and a dedicated crew. Frost students and staff embraced challenges, celebrated achievements, supported one another, and continued moving forward together. Through every lesson learned, relationship built, and goal accomplished, we remained Anchored in Learning!!
As we look toward the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited for the opportunities and adventures ahead. We look forward to continuing our journey together and building upon the many successes of this year.
Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and trust in Frost Middle School. A special THANK YOU to the Frost MS PTA and our supportive and active parent community! We wish all of our students and families a joyful, relaxing, and well-deserved summer filled with memorable moments and opportunities to recharge.
Have a wonderful summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another outstanding year at Frost Middle School.
With appreciation,
Anthony Harris
Principal Frost Middle School
