A Note from the Principal
Dear DRES family,
As we close out another school year, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for all that you have done for our students, families, and one another.
Every day, DRES staff go above and beyond in caring for our students and supporting our families. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment make a difference in ways both large and small. Whether through your work in the classroom, behind the scenes, or in countless moments of support, every contribution has helped make this year a success.
One of the things that makes DRES so special is the way we collaborate and support one another. The strength of our school community comes from the collective efforts of every team member. Together, we have celebrated achievements, overcome challenges, and created meaningful experiences for our students.
Today brings a mix of smiles and tears as we say goodbye to another school year. The notes, cards, and messages from students and families are reminders of the lasting impact you have had on their lives. Your kindness, patience, and dedication have made a difference that extends far beyond the school day.
Thank you for your hard work, your teamwork, and your unwavering commitment to our students. I am proud to serve alongside such an exceptional group of educators and staff.
I wish you a wonderful, restful, and well-deserved summer. Enjoy the time to recharge, celebrate your accomplishments, and make memories with family and friends.
With gratitude,
Susan Mullen, Principal

End of School Year Medication Reminder
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
