This past Monday, we had the special privilege of welcoming back former Coates students who are graduating from high school this year. Our graduating seniors returned to walk the halls of Coates one last time, reconnect with familiar faces, and reflect on how far they have come since their elementary school days.
We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and the young adults they have become. As they prepare for the next chapter of their journeys, we wish them continued success and happiness in all their future endeavors. Once a Coates Star, always a Coates Star!
This past Monday, Coates students enjoyed our annual Field Day, a fun-filled event that brought our school community together for a day of games, activities, and excitement! Students participated in a variety of engaging stations and enjoyed refreshing popsicles while celebrating the end of a wonderful school year.
A special thank you goes to our PE teachers—Mr. Gardiner, Ms. Pualoa, Ms. Wolstenholme, and Mr. Helmand—for their hard work and dedication in organizing this memorable event. We would also like to thank our staff members and families who volunteered their time and supported Field Day. Your enthusiasm and support helped make the day a tremendous success for our Coates Stars!
On Wednesday, our 5th and 6th grade STAR Scholars participated in an exciting Career Fair at Coates Elementary School. Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to develop their Portrait of a Graduate skills as Creative and Critical Thinkers by actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging with a variety of presenters. It was inspiring to see their curiosity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn about future career pathways and possibilities.
We extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Solangie McPherson, Ms. Sandra Ramirez, Mrs. Mikayla Rowe, and Ms. Resheeda Hinkson for coordinating this meaningful experience and providing our students with valuable opportunities to explore careers and envision their futures. We would also like to thank our many volunteer presenters who generously shared their time, experiences, and expertise. Their willingness to inspire our students and introduce them to a wide range of career opportunities helped make this event both engaging and impactful.
We are proud to celebrate the newest graduates of the Coates Family Academy! Each year, participating families embark on a rigorous and rewarding journey that spans from August through June. Through workshops, collaboration, and specialized guidance, families build skills, strengthen connections, and deepen their partnership with our school community.
The Coates Family Academy is designed to empower families by providing meaningful support, resources, and opportunities for growth. We commend our graduates for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to their children's success. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement, and thank you for being valued partners in the Coates community!
