Field Day - Thursday June 11th

Dear Forest Edge Parents/Guardians,

On Thursday June 11th, Forest Edge will be having our Field Day!!  K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will have it in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00 with twelve stations.  4th, 5th, and 6th will have their field day from 12:45-2:45, with ten stations.  There will be 3 stations in the gym, 3-4 water stations on the blacktop, and 4-5 stations on the field.   We are seeking volunteers for both the morning and the afternoon sessions, more information is below.

Here is what students can bring to be prepared:

  • Sneakers
  • Weather appropriate clothes
  • Change of clothes due to water stations
  • Water bottle with name on it.
  • Suggest wearing a hat
  • Sunscreen (teachers won’t be able to apply sunscreen so please put this on prior to school and/or have them reapply before the Field Day begin)

Each class will be divided into 3 groups: red, blue, and green.  They will need to wear shirts that correspond to their color.  We have a limited amount of extra pinnies in case someone does not have this shirt color or forgets it the day of field day.

We are still in need of a couple of more volunteers for the 2026 Field Day.  You are also more than welcome to participate in the stations; it is a lot of fun!  Below is the link to sign up.  We are looking to fill both the morning and afternoon sessions with most stations needing 2 volunteers.

Finish the School Year With Strong Attendance!

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, Fairfax County Public Schools appreciates your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success. Regular attendance plays an important role in helping students stay engaged in learning, maintain connections with their teachers and peers, and finish the school year strong.

Attending school consistently also helps students build valuable habits such as responsibility, perseverance, and daily routines that support success both in and out of the classroom.

If your child needs to miss school, please remember to report the absence. Full-day absences can be reported in ParentVUE. Families may also report absences by calling the school attendance line or emailing the school-designated attendance address.

If your child is experiencing challenges that are affecting attendance, we are here to help. Please contact your child’s school so staff can partner with you to provide support and resources. Learn more about attendance resources
