Principal's Note |
Dear London Towne Families,
As we cross the finish line of the school year, we want to take a moment to look back and reflect on the incredible impact of our collective efforts. Every success we are celebrating this week is a direct result of a true team effort—families, students, staff, and our entire community working hand-in-hand. Truly, we have many celebrations that we all have a paw in!
Living the ROAR: Our School Community
This year, our big focus was on building a collective ownership and deep understanding of our London Towne ROAR Matrix. Together, we’ve used this framework to build a positive school community that is genuinely welcoming, inclusive, and safe for everyone. As London Towne Lions we show Respect, Own our Actions, Advocate for Ourselves and Others, and are Ready to Learn.
By ensuring our school environment feels physically and emotionally safe, we have been able to maximize learning for every single child. A huge part of this success came from our quarterly challenges, which encouraged our students to use positive strategies when navigating big feelings. We’ve loved seeing our students independently use tools like:
-
"I-messages" to express their feelings clearly and respectfully.
-
"Stop, Walk, Talk" to handle peer conflicts positively.
-
"Stop, Think, Act" to practice self-regulation before making choices.
-
"Being Ready to Learn" by showing up focused and prepared each day.
Maximizing Every Minute ⏰
We also set a high bar this year for making our instructional time as efficient and effective as possible. Because our community stepped up to ensure students were consistently in their seats and ready to go, we saw a drop in both our chronic absenteeism rate and our tardiness rate. Thank you for prioritizing attendance—every minute counts, and your dedication directly fueled our students' success!
Academic Triumphs: ALL Means ALL!
At the Towne, our mission this year has been loud and clear: "ALL means ALL."
Thanks to the collective efforts of this incredibly special community, we are thrilled to report that we have shown marked improvements in both mastery and growth in Reading and Math achievement for ALL students. We feel entirely confident saying that every single student has shown tremendous growth this year, and we couldn't be prouder of their resilience, grit, and hard work.
☀️ Looking Ahead to Summer & Beyond

Thank you for an unforgettable school year. We see you, we appreciate you, and we will see you "next year!"
Warmly,
Shele Banford, Principal
