A Note from the Principal
Dear Daniels Run families,
We had an amazing week filled with celebrations, learning, and accomplishments. Students in grades 1–5 proudly shared their work during their Success Days, showcasing the growth, creativity, and hard work they have demonstrated throughout the year. It was a wonderful culmination of months of learning, and many classrooms celebrated with end-of-year parties and special activities.
On Wednesday evening, we were thrilled to celebrate Kylie Horn, who was recognized as the Region 5 New Teacher of the Year. We are incredibly proud of Kylie and grateful to have her as part of the Daniels Run family. This well-deserved recognition reflects her dedication, passion, and commitment to our students.
As we prepare for our final week of school, we are reflecting on what has been a truly wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and lasting memories. We are especially proud of our students' academic achievements. Our SOL scores increased in every subject area, demonstrating the hard work of our students and staff. Most importantly, each student has shown meaningful growth this year, and we celebrate their accomplishments and perseverance.
Next week, we will celebrate two important promotion ceremonies:
- Sixth Grade Promotion will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Fairfax High School as our sixth graders prepare for their transition to middle school.
- Kindergarten Promotion will be held on Tuesday as we celebrate our youngest learners moving on to first grade.
Please remember that Wednesday, the last day of school, is a two-hour early release day, and all students will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to finishing the school year strong and celebrating our students during this special final week.
Best Regards,
Susan Mullen, Principal
