Keep Your Kiss & Ride Placard

If you have a child still attending Lees Corner next year, please keep your Kiss & Ride card in a safe place for the summer. Your family will continue to have the same number and we hope to avoid re-printing cards in the Fall.

Thanks for helping us conserve paper!

NYC Taking A Break

Our NewsYouChoose (NYC) will be taking a break over the summer. Our last message will be sent out on 6/17, but we'll be back in a couple of months with information regarding the start of the next school year! Enjoy your summer!

Lost & Found Items

Lost & Found Items

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to remind families to check our Lost & Found in the lobby for any items that may belong to their child. Over the course of the year, many jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other personal belongings have accumulated.

Please stop by and claim your item by Tuesday June 16th.  Any unclaimed items remaining after this date will be donated. To assist families, we have attached some photos of the items currently in Lost and Found in case you recognize anything belonging to your child.

Thank you for your support in helping us return these belongings to their owners before the school year ends.

Student Medication Pick-up

PARENTS ONLY must pick-up all medications no later than 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17.

  • Medications may also be picked up prior to June 17 during health room hours: 9:00am – 3:30pm.
  • Medication left in the Health Room after 1:35 p.m. on June 17 cannot be saved and will be discarded according to FCPS and FCHD policy.
  • REMINDER: New medication authorization forms are required for each new school year.  Forms at: https://www.fcps.edu/registration/forms

If you have any questions, please call the Health Room at 703-227-3510.

FORGOT TO ORDER A YEARBOOK?

We have extra yearbooks available for purchase on Friday, June 12 through Wednesday, June 17.

Please send in $20 exact cash or a check payable to Lees Corner Elementary School.

Summer Learning Opportunities

Your student has been reading, writing, and building knowledge this year with FCPS’ English Language Arts curriculum, Benchmark Advance. To help students keep learning over the summer, we are sending home two Benchmark magazines that were not used during the school year: one about physical science and one about economics. Each magazine provides 3 weeks of activities.

Additionally, there will also be a summer essentials practice book available for each grade level. These will be available online on the FCPS Summer Learning Website as PDFs.

Finally, don’t forget about our Lees Corner Summer Reading Challenge, shared in your child’s final progress report!

Student Testing Results Coming Soon

Through June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, you can view a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.

Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families

Websites for each test provide report translations and help with understanding test results. Please contact our front office with any testing questions or for additional information about how our school and teachers use test results to support student success.

Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE

Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.

Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. It is available online and as a mobile app for Apple and Android devices.

Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.

If you already have an account, be sure your contact information is up to date. Parents/guardians can update their phone numbers or email addresses in the Parent/Guardian section. View additional details about ParentVUE.

Activate Your ParentVUE Account to Stay Connected

On Wednesday, July 29, FCPS families who haven't activated their ParentVUE account will receive an email with the subject “Fairfax County Public Schools ParentVUE Activation Letter.”

The email will include instructions to activate a ParentVUE account. If you don’t have an account and don’t receive the email, please check your spam folder or open a Parent Support Request. After July 29, families may also contact Mrs. Boddie at JWBoddie@fcps.edu to request a printed activation letter or a new activation key, if needed.

All families are encouraged to activate their accounts as soon as possible to ensure they receive immediate access to important student information and school communications.

For assistance activating your account, please contact our front office. For technical support, create a Parent Support Request.

Early Release Wednesdays for 2026-27

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number has been reduced from eight to four days.

Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.

Please view the dates for our school’s early release Wednesdays below:

  • October 21
  • December 2
  • February 10
  • May 5

Visit the FCPS website for more information about early release Wednesdays.
