Finishing the Year Strong: Why We Stick to Our Routines
As we head into these final weeks of school, it is completely natural for our little ones to feel a big mix of excitement and anticipation. For young children, even happy changes to their normal routine can feel a bit overwhelming and bring up some extra anxiety or big emotions.
To keep our classrooms feeling safe, calm, and comfortable for the kids, we are committed to keeping our normal daily schedules and routines going right up until the very last day of school. Children do best when they know exactly what to expect next, and keeping things predictable is the best way we can support them right now.
How we can team up at home:
-
Stick to regular sleep schedules: Keeping bedtimes and morning routines consistent helps children arrive at school feeling rested and ready.
-
Chat about the day: Gently talking through what to expect the next day helps ease any quiet worries your child might be holding onto.
-
Keep attendance steady: Being here every day with their friends and teachers gives your child a wonderful sense of stability.
Thank you so much for your partnership as we work together to make these last days of school calm, happy, and meaningful for all of our kids!
