 Dear Stone Families,
Last week was filled with celebrations as we honored our 8th-grade students and their transition to high school and welcomed the Westfield High School Class of 2026 back to the halls of Stone Middle School, giving our students a glimpse of what lies ahead. This week, we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our 7th-grade students during our annual awards ceremony.
While these special events are important, teaching and learning continue each day at Stone. With only eight school days remaining, our focus remains on strong academic engagement, positive behavior, and finishing the year successfully.
As excitement for summer grows, this can be a time when students are tempted to make poor choices. We ask for your partnership in speaking with your student about the importance of making responsible decisions, demonstrating respect for others, and maintaining their commitment to learning through the last day of school. Our expectations for behavior and academic effort remain high, and we appreciate your support in helping students finish the year strong.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Let's have a great week, Panthers!

School Lunch News
Please Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance
It’s a busy time of year, and we know many priorities are on your plate. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to check your student’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.
Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families who earn less than 185% of the poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals (FRM). However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2026-27 school year will be available this summer.
If you have a current balance and think you may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2025-26 school year.
Summer Meals for Students
Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on-site while eating their meals.
This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.
Summer sites will continue to be added, so check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

SY25-26 HS Credit Course Expunge Form
Middle school offers the unique opportunity to expunge a high school credit course (HS math courses and World Language Courses). This means that there would be no record of this year’s grade on their high school transcript. Please review your child's third quarter grades and contact your child's school counselor for any questions. If you would like to start this process, here is the link to the Expunge Form.
SY26-27 Schedule Request Review
As students complete their SOLs and reflect on their growth and progress this year, we encourage families to review their child’s course requests in SISParentVue under Schedule Request before the school year ends.
Please take time to review the following math resources, and let us know if you have any questions. Any course change requests should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than June 5 by contacting your child’s school counselor.
