Letter from Principal Prindle

Dear Families,

We had a jam-packed, celebratory week and are down to our final 3 days of school. It's hard to believe the year is coming to an end.

📸 Recent Highlights

The Epic 6th Grade vs. Parents Kickball Game

The rivalry was real, the stakes were high, and the talent on both sides was unmatched! Our 6th graders faced off against their parents in our annual kickball showdown. Thank you to all the parents who laced up their sneakers and showed our students how it's done! We appreciate the amazing PE teachers for coordinating this fun event!

A Showstopping Musical Theater Performance

This week’s musical theater performance was nothing short of spectacular. Our student performers, stage crew, and directors poured their hearts into the production, delivering a truly showstopping experience. The talent on that stage left us all in awe—we definitely have some future Broadway stars in our midst!

Classroom Celebrations

The school has been buzzing with energy as classrooms wrap up their final projects and host end-of-year parties. From ice cream socials to game days, it has been wonderful to see our students celebrating their hard work and enjoying these final moments of bonding with their classmates and teachers.

Let's make this last week the best one yet! As always, please reach out to the main office or me if you have any questions.

Warm regards,

Sharyn Prindle

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number of days has been reduced from eight to four.

Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.

Please view the dates for our school’s early release Wednesdays below:

  • September 30

  • November 18

  • January 13

  • April 7

Visit the FCPS website for more information about early release Wednesdays.

Student Testing Results

Through June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, you can view a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.

Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families

Websites for each test provide report translations and help with understanding test results. Please contact our front office with any testing questions or for additional information about how our school and teachers use test results to support student success.

Your feedback matters. Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.

If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation.
