Clinic- Medication pick up information

All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school (12:15pm). Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

Medication authorization forms for next school year may be obtained from the school or online at https://www.fcps.edu/resources/student-safety-and-wellness/school-health-services.

If you have any questions, please call the Irving clinic during school hours at 703-912-4510.

Recurring Irving MS News

Library News:

Technically, all books were due back to the Irving Library on June 3rd.  We are at the point where we will be working to inform students and parents on a regular basis about what items they need to return. A reminder was sent to parents via TalkingPoints on Wednesday, May 27th.

Please note that we do not charge overdue fees or lost-book fees.  We will accept donations to replace lost or damaged copies, however.  The cost of books are included in most notices.  We understand that things happen and sometimes books are lost.  But, we do hope that students know the value of books and that they strive to take care of things that they borrow.  Mostly, we want the books back so that other students can enjoy them.  As always, please encourage your student to come and talk to us if they’ve lost a book; we can resolve the problem.

Pre-ordered copies of the yearbook will be delivered on 6/5/26 during 1st period.

A limited supply of additional copies can be purchased starting at 7 am, outside of the library for exact cash payments of $25, or checks made to “Irving Middle School”  on Monday, June 8th.

Irving Stays After

Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, vendors and participants for a fantastic year of after school activities. New activities were introduced and supported, as well as those that are staples in the program. Shoutout to our fine and performing arts students that put on wonderful productions and performances; our Cross Country, Volleyball and Track & Field teams that represented us across the county; lastly, Math Counts and Strategic Games that participated in state and local competitions, respectively. Parents, please continue to support and advocate for the MS After School Program.

The Middle School After-School Program office is conducting a survey of parents/ guardians to assess the quality and impact of the program. Below is a link for a quick survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

Participating in the survey is voluntary.  Individual responses will be kept confidential, and responses will be summarized at the school and division level.

The survey is an important component of the after-school program evaluation and is critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data

Thank you for considering completing the survey and for your support of the MS after-school program. This survey will be open from June 8, 2026 through June 12, 2026.

FCPS Superintendent-Exempt Seal Number 26212.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Mark H. Emery at mhemery@fcps.edu.

You should exit the FCPS survey once the “Thank You for Completing this Survey” appears.  The request to click on a second survey is not part of the Parent Survey
