School News

Dear Poplar Tree Families,

What a quite the busy week we had here at Poplar Tree! On Tuesday, we welcomed the graduates of the class 2026 who attended Poplar Tree. It was so fun to see them walk the halls of their elementary school in their cap and gowns! Congratulations to the Chantilly High School seniors who graduated on Wednesday at Eagle Bank Arena!

This week we also got to hear from our wonderful musicians at our Strings, Band, and Chorus concerts! Huge thanks to our music department for helping prepare our students this year!

Our 1st graders also had fun at their First Grade market where they learned all about economics. They earned "tickets" and then created products to sell to their peers. They loved going around to the different classroom and spending their "tickets" on the different products!

Our 6th Grade Living History Museum was also a great opportunity for our students to share what they had learned about various famous people in history. It was clear they put in lots of hard work into their costumes, artifacts, and speeches as they took us back in time during the museum!

Finally, we want to thank all the volunteers from Deloitte who helped to beautify our school during the Deloitte Day of Impact! We are grateful that you chose to support our school!

We hope to see many of you at the Block Party tonight from 6:30 - 8:00 at Poplar Tree!

Have a great weekend!

Device and Case Collection

Device Collection💻

We will be collecting devices from students in grades 3-6 on Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16. A schedule will be shared next week for exactly which date your child should be prepared to turn in their device.

All students will need to also return their charger. If they do not return their charger, there will be a replacement fee.

  • 3rd & 5th graders will KEEP their cases to use for next year.
  • 4th & 6th graders should RETURN their cases to us.

If you are leaving Poplar Tree before Monday, June 15, please be sure your child turns in their device and charger to Ms. Bousman-Stanczak!

THANK YOU!!!

Summer Laptop Request

Summer Laptop Request 💻

This summer, all students will be allowed to take their assigned laptops/tablets home. This is an optional, opt-in program.

This opportunity ensures every student has continued access to personalized learning tools—like Benchmark Universe and ST Math—during the summer.

By having their device available, students can:

  • Continue learning started during the school year
  • Access high-quality, personalized educational resources
  • Build important digital literacy and responsibility skills
  • Practice routines that support their growth as learners

What You Need to Know

(Optional Program)

Students are not required to take their devices for the summer. If you wish for your student to participate and have their device for the summer, please complete this form by Friday, June 5, 2026.

Once you request a device for your child, you will receive a purple paper form that you will need to turn in before the device can go home.

Balanced Use of Technology:

We encourage families to set clear expectations for screen time. The device should primarily be used for assigned learning activities. We encourage you to:

Raptor App

Use the Raptor Safe App!

Looking to speed up front office check-in during these last busy weeks of school? Families can now use the Raptor Safe app to make the process quicker and easier!

Before your next visit, simply download the app on your phone and complete the one-time setup from home by:

  • Uploading your driver’s license
  • Taking your photo (saved in the app so you won’t need to retake a selfie each visit!)
  • Completing the verification process (most important step!)

Once set up, you’ll still check in at the front office every time you visit the school, but instead of rescanning your ID and taking a new photo, you can simply scan the QR code from your app for a much faster check-in experience!
