Dear Mighty Red Bird Families,

Can you believe we have arrived at the final stretch? After today, there are officially only five days left in the school year, and the energy throughout the building is absolutely buzzing! We are so incredibly proud of everything our students have accomplished.

We need your partnership to help us cross the finish line smoothly. First, we are on a mission to solve a major mystery: we currently have 108 library books missing. We kindly ask that you take a look under beds, behind couches, and deep inside backpacks this evening, and please return any found books to the media center as soon as possible so we can ready our collection for next year. Additionally, even though summer is just around the corner, every single day still counts. Attendance continues to be incredibly important, as we want to see every smiling face here for our final wrap-ups and celebrations. Rest assured, our classrooms are still packed with fun and engagement, as teachers have fantastic activities planned to keep students learning and laughing together right up until the final bell.

Thank you for your amazing support throughout these last 10 months, and let’s all work together to have a great end to the school year!

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Long, Mrs. Agner, Mrs. Compton

📅 Calendar Survey

FCPS values your input as we plan future school calendars. On Friday, June 5, all caregivers and FCPS staff received an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey.

Your feedback matters. Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.

If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation

Immunizations

Summer Immunization Events for All FCPS Students

Inspire Health Alliance, in partnership with FCPS, will be providing school-required immunizations this summer. Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to students or families. Registering families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still participate.

Visit the FCPS and Inspire Health Alliance Student Immunization Events webpage for dates, times, and locations. Additional event dates will be made available and shared four to five weeks prior to the event on the webpage. Additional immunization resources are also available.

Arrival and Dismissal - Be A Good Neighbor!

As a reminder, please help us keep arrival and dismissal times safe and smooth for everyone. We ask families to be good neighbors and mindful of:

  • Not blocking intersections or painted boxes during Kiss & Ride —this impacts visibility and also prohibits access for emergency vehicles.

  • Crossing only in crosswalks and watching carefully for cars.

  • Avoiding parking in residential areas, fire lanes, or private parking spaces.

  • Refraining from making illegal U-turns.

  • Remember, no pets are allowed on school property.
