Dreaming big and exploring endless possibilities! Thank you so much to our amazing PTA for hosting a career day! Our students had the absolute best time! From sitting inside a real police cruiser to learning about the fascinating work of research scientists, therapist, and medical professionals, our hallways were packed with inspiration.

Roadrunner Roundup

Dear Roadrunner Families,

We have officially reached the final stretch of the school year, and there is just one more full week left of school! The energy in the building is absolutely electric as we prepare to wrap up an incredible year of learning, growth, and community.

As you look ahead to our final full week, please make note of these exciting events happening this upcoming week:

Monday: Field Day! We are kicking off the week with one of our absolute favorite traditions. Our students will be heading outside for a day filled with teamwork, sportsmanship, and high-energy games. Please see below for important reminders regarding water bottles, sneakers, and sun protection to help your student stay safe and comfortable.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Spring Musical. Our talented students are ready to take the stage! We have two wonderful opportunities for you to catch the performance: a during the school day show on Tuesday and an evening performance on Wednesday. We can’t wait to showcase the hard work and dedication of our amazing cast and crew.

Library Book Talks: To keep the reading momentum going all summer long, representatives from the library will be visiting our classrooms this week to host engaging book talks and share exciting summer reading programs with our students.

"Get 2 Green" Celebration: In honor of our school's environmental efforts, we are hosting a special celebration this week! We are thrilled to welcome some very special, fluffy guests—sheep—to the school to help us commemorate our green achievements.

Thank you for your continued partnership and enthusiasm as we head into these final, memorable days of the school year. Let's make this upcoming week our best one yet!

Warmly,

Christie Yarn and Julia Haywood

Hello! My name is Insaf Bouzana, and I will be joining the kindergarten team at Little Run. This will be my first official year teaching as an instructional assistant. I earned my bachelor's degree in English Literature at George Mason University. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading a good book, baking, and hanging out with my family and loved ones!

Field Day Reminders

Our exciting Field Day is just around the corner this coming Monday! To make sure all our students have a safe, comfortable, and fun day, please review this quick morning of preparation checklist before heading out the door:

  • Any students with environmental allergies should take their medications at home before school
  • Sun block should be applied at home before school
  • Students should bring their water bottles with their names on them
  • Appropriate footwear is highly recommended (sneakers, not sandals or slides)
  • Appropriate clothing for Monday's temperatures (sweatshirts/hoodies may be too warm during field day activities)

Our talented musicians absolutely blew us away at the Spring Band and Strings Concert.  From the beautiful harmonies of the string section to the high-energy rhythms of the band, these students have worked incredibly hard all year mastering their instruments.  Huge thank you to our amazing directors and to all the families who came out to support our young musicians! 🎶 🎶
