Summer Online Campus
Registration Deadline is Today!
Families wanting their student to take an FCPS approved online course over the summer for new or repeat high school credit, must register by June 5th. Information on course options and registration process can be found on the FCPS Online Campus website.
Medication Pickup
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s) when you pick up your student's medication.

As we close out another year at Frost, we hope you’ll join us to reflect on what’s made this community special—and to help shape what comes next.
This meeting includes elections for the 2026–2027 PTA Board. Elections will take place during the meeting with self-nominations from the floor.
Here’s the honest part: It sounds like a lot. It isn’t.
No one walks in knowing everything. The work is shared, the time commitment is manageable, and you won’t be on your own!
More importantly—this is how the events your kids remember actually happen. Bingo Night. Frost Festival. Teacher Appreciation. 8th grade celebrations. They don’t run without parents stepping up.
Middle school is a short window. This is one of the easiest ways to stay connected, stay informed, and have a voice in it. We especially encourage rising 7th grade parents to get involved now.

Right now, every position is open, and we are counting on families to step in so the PTA can continue to support our students, teachers, and school community.
Open Positions:
President Leads the PTA’s overall work, runs meetings, and serves as the main connection with the principal and school administration.
Vice President Supports the president and helps keep things moving—often helps coordinate volunteers, events, or specific focus areas.
Secretary Keeps records of meetings and communications. Makes sure decisions and plans are documented and shared.
Treasurer Manages PTA finances, including the budget, payments, and basic compliance. You don’t need to be an expert—just organized and comfortable with numbers.
Committee Chairs & Event Leads Help run the events families actually see—Bingo Night, Frost Festival, Teacher Appreciation, 8th grade activities, and more. These roles can be flexible and shared.

FCPS Summer Food Service Program – Summer Meals Are Coming!
FCPS is excited to continue the Summer Food Service Program beginning on Monday, June 22, through Friday, August 21. At area-eligible sites, all students can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, helping ensure they continue to have access to balanced, nutritious meals during summer break.
This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following eligible sites:
- Braddock Elementary School
- Dogwood Elementary School
- Glen Forest Elementary School
- Hutchison Elementary School
- Hybla Valley Elementary School
- London Towne Elementary School
Students must consume meals on-site. Additional sites will be added throughout the summer. Check the Food and Nutrition Services website for updates on specific dates, times, and locations.
FCPS provides balanced meals that support students’ growth so they return to school ready to learn. Summer meals are just as nutritious and tasty as school-year meals. Meals include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and low-fat or fat-free milk, plus plant-based options.

Woodson Girls Volleyball Summer Camp
For all rising 4th through rising 9th graders: the Woodson Girls' Volleyball Summer Camp still has plenty of openings for all sessions, particularly sessions 2 and 4. The summer camp dates/times are:
July 6-9:
- Session 1: 5:00 to 7:00 PM
- Session 2: 7:30 to 9:30 PM
July 13-16:
- Session 3: 5:00 to 7:00 PM
- Session 4: 7:30 to 9:30 PM

SoCo Summer Strings Camp
Exciting news! SoCo Summer Strings is returning this summer! The camp will be hosted at South County Middle School from July 6-17, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (weekdays only). Camp is open to all rising 5th-9th grade students with at least one year of experience on the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students will participate in two large ensemble rehearsals, an instrument-specific technique class, and a sectional each day.

🏑 Woodson Field Hockey Camp is Coming!
Sponsored by the Woodson Athletic Boosters, we are thrilled to announce this year’s field hockey camp! Whether your child is picked up a stick for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, this camp is a fantastic way to stay active and have fun.

Required Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders
As required by the Code of VA, parents or legal guardians need to provide proof of immunizations for their child to attend at a Virginia public school.
In addition, all students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) given at age 7 or older;
- Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) given at age 10 or older;
- A complete series of 2 doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parents or guardians sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with your child’s healthcare provider now to avoid the rush this summer. Immunization appointments are available. Inspire Health Alliance will be providing immunizations for currently enrolled FCPS students at no out-of-pocket cost. Visit the Inspire Immunization Events Student Registration webpage to schedule an appointment.

Virginia Energy Assistance Program (DSS)
Eligible households may receive help with heating, cooling, or energy emergencies through Fuel, Crisis, and Cooling Assistance programs. Support can include help paying utility bills, heating fuel, deposits, or repairing/replacing heating or cooling equipment. Applications are accepted online via CommonHelp, by phone, or through local DSS offices during program-specific application periods. Benefits are based on availability of funds.

Neighborhood Health and Healthworks- Effective January 1, 2023, the Fairfax County Health Department Dental Program transferred to the Community Health Centers serving Fairfax County: Neighborhood Health and HealthWorks. Individuals seeking dental services should contact the Community Health Center nearest them.

Northern Virginia Family Services
NVFS Training Futures is a 12-week program that helps adults gain in-demand digital and office support skills, earn a professional certificate, and receive hands-on support with resumes, interviewing, and networking. ECHO (Ecumenical Community Helping Others)
ECHO provides clothing, food, grade-appropriate school supplies packaged in backpacks, household items, computers and financial assistance to families that live in Burke and the greater Springfield area. Healthy Minds Fairfax offers short-term behavioral health services for children and youth who live in Fairfax County. Frost Middle School distributes weekend food bags containing nonperishable snack items to students in need on Friday afternoons. Resources for Families of Students with Disabilities
SEPTA, the Fairfax County Special Education Parent Teacher Association, was created to empower and connect families, students, and educators to ensure students with disabilities develop their full potential as individuals and community members. Learn more or become a member on the SEPTA website.
The Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities (ACSD) is a state mandated Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). Parents/guardians, students, teachers, administrators, staff, and others interested in special education at FCPS are welcome and encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas, and/or public comment related to the unmet needs of students with disabilities.
FCPS’ Office of Special Education Procedural Support provides guidance to staff, families, and students in areas related to the implementation of and compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as amended.
Families of students in special education programs can find more resources in the Special Education Handbook for Parents. (Translations are available from the Parent Resource Center (PRC).)
The PRC offers free webinars, consultations, a lending library, and resources to help adults support the success of all students, including those with learning challenges, special needs, and disabilities. Their YouTube channel includes videos of workshops and webinars for families and educators to support student success. Kathy Murphy, the assistant ombuds for special education, provides information and support to parents/caregivers and students regarding special education and Section 504 services. Staff in the Office of the Ombuds believe that by being transparent and connecting families with available supports and services, children with special needs can equitably access public education.
