📰What's Happening at Mosaic?
🏫Mosaic Open House Tomorrow - 5:30 p.m
Join us on Thursday, June 4, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. for a community Open House at Mosaic Elementary! As we celebrate the completion of our three-year construction and renovation project, we would like to thank our neighbors and community members for their patience, support, and partnership throughout the process.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour our beautiful new school, including the gym, library, and outdoor learning spaces, meet members of our leadership team, enjoy student musical performances, and learn about the school's energy and sustainability upgrades. Light refreshments will be provided.
We look forward to welcoming students, families, neighbors, and community members as we celebrate this exciting new chapter for Mosaic Elementary.
🏃➡️Field Day Volunteers Needed!
We are still looking for a few more volunteers for Field Day next week! Please review the volunteer descriptions and sign up for the station you would like to volunteer at. We appreciate your help in making Field Day a fun and successful experience for our students!
💊Health Reminder for the End of Year
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication with completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s) at 703-937-1610.
🚚Moving Over the Summer?
If you haven’t already informed the office of an upcoming move, please email Jenny Davisson (jvdavisson@fcps.edu) to let her know your plans. Additionally, if new neighbors with elementary age children move in, please encourage them to contact the school to register their children!
📖Library Books Due June 5
All library books are due back to the Mosaic Library by Friday, June 5th. Overdue notices will be emailed to the enrolling parent after this date. Please look for the notices and reach out to Mrs. Brown if you have questions or wish to report a lost book. Thank you very much!
Mosaic Running Buddies, which is partnered with Rising New York Road Runners (RNYRR), is an after school running program led by Ms. Zutter. Students learned how to run distances with proper form and running technique, and at the conclusion of the training cycle they ran a 5k race.
Our Mustangs did an amazing job - students were cheering each other on and keeping their spirits high, even when they were getting really tired.
Special shout out to Ms. Karlo and Ms. Hopkins, who also joined!
📙Benchmark Magazines
Before the end of the school year, your child will be bringing home two Benchmark magazines, Units 9 and 10. As time does not allow us to reach these final two units in our curriculum, the county is encouraging students to enjoy them at home this summer. The Take Home Activity Calendar located in the back of each magazine has some suggested activities - enjoy!
