As we begin planning for the upcoming school year (2026-2027), the Glasgow PTA is excited to open the nomination process for our PTA Board positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
Serving on the PTA Board is a meaningful way to support our school community, collaborate with dedicated parents and staff, and help shape the experiences of our students. Whether you’ve been involved with the PTA for years or are looking to take a more active role, we encourage you to consider applying.
Each position plays an important role. No matter your background or experience level, your perspective and commitment can make a difference. If you’re interested (or know anyone that might be) or would like to learn more about any of these roles, please don’t hesitate to reach out - glasgowpta.va@gmail.com. We’d be happy to answer questions and help you find the best fit.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community!
PTA Teacher Mini Grants
Thank you to everyone who supported the PTA's fundraising efforts this year. Through your generosity, the Teacher Mini-Grant Program funded a variety of innovative programs, materials, and learning spaces that directly benefit Glasgow students. This year's grants supported:
- A multisensory cursive writing program for 8th graders with whiteboards, markers, paper, and adaptive writing tools to strengthen handwriting, literacy, and fine motor skills.
- Student-led environmental stewardship projects through AVID, including trash pickers and storage containers for campus clean-up and beautification efforts. AVID students also received new reference books to support research, critical thinking, and academic success.
- The creation of a Library Makerspace with hands-on materials and resources that promote STEM learning, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Owl pellet dissection kits for 7th graders that provide engaging, hands-on science learning experiences while developing observation, scientific illustration, and analytical skills.
- Flexible seating and calming classroom spaces through the purchase of a rug, yoga ball chairs, stools, and bean bag chairs to support student engagement, focus, and comfort.
- Test-taking shields to help reduce distractions and create a more focused assessment environment
- Professional-quality recording equipment for the music department to enhance concert recordings, student projects, rehearsals, and performance assessments, as well as additional tuners and contact microphones to support music instruction.
- A popcorn machine, karaoke machine, and other enrichment materials to support school-wide community-building activities, including assemblies, no-tardy celebrations, and wellness events designed to strengthen students' sense of belonging.
These grants reflect the creativity and dedication of Glasgow's teachers and the PTA's commitment to enriching the educational experience for all students.
