Dear Beech Tree Families,

There was much to celebrate across our school community this week!

📚 Showcasing What We’ve Learned

This week marked the conclusion of our state assessments. These tests represent just one snapshot of the learning that has taken place throughout the school year. We are proud of our students for approaching each assessment with determination and for giving their best effort. Their commitment reflects the strong culture of learning that exists throughout Beech Tree.

🚶 Kindergarten Walking Field Trip

Our kindergarten students enjoyed a special walking field trip this week. The experience provided valuable opportunities for learning, exploration, and community connection. We are grateful to our teachers and volunteers who helped make the trip both safe and memorable.

🤝 Final PTA Meeting of the Year

This week marked our final PTA meeting of the school year. We extend our sincere appreciation to our PTA Board, committee chairs, volunteers, and all family members who supported countless events and initiatives throughout the year. Your partnership continues to make Beech Tree a special place for our students and staff.

🎂 Last Beaver Birthday Luncheon

We also hosted our final Beaver Birthday Luncheon of the school year. It was great to celebrate our students and recognize their special day. Thank you to everyone who helped make these monthly celebrations such a success!

Third Grade Writers Showcase

This week our third grade students hosted their annual Writers Showcase. Families were invited to attend a special reading where students shared excerpts from the books they authored during their third grade year. The event provided students with an opportunity to celebrate their growth as writers and showcased their creativity. We are incredibly proud of our third graders and the confidence they demonstrated as published authors! 📚✨

⚽ Fourth Grade vs. Fifth Grade Soccer Scrimmage

One of the week’s most anticipated events was the Fourth Grade vs. Fifth Grade Soccer Scrimmage! Students displayed sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit throughout the match. Congratulations to our fifth graders who earned their victory!

🎓 Graduation Parade: Once a Beaver, Always a Beaver!

This week we experienced a truly special moment at Beech Tree. Former students, who are now high school graduates, returned to walk the halls of our building one more time during a special Graduation Parade.

Our students lined the hallways clapping and cheering as the graduates marched through in their caps and gowns. The event was filled with smiles, high-fives, and excitement.

We are incredibly proud of these remarkable young adults, many of whom began their educational journey right here at Beech Tree. Watching them return as graduates was a powerful reminder that the work we do together each day helps lay the foundation for bright futures.

Congratulations, graduates! Once a Beaver, always a Beaver! Beech Tree United! 💙🎉

As we move closer to the end of the school year, thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to finishing the year strong and creating even more lasting memories together.

Have a wonderful weekend!

With appreciation,

Principal Clarke & Assistant Principal Barry

Calendar Survey

FCPS values your input as we plan future school calendars. On Friday, June 5, all caregivers and FCPS staff will receive an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey.

Your feedback matters. Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.

If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation.

Summer Resources Help Students Stay Curious, Healthy, and Busy

The FCPS Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.

Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.

Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation and Neither Does Fun! The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!

Summer Meals for Students

Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on-site while eating their meals.

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.

Summer sites will continue to be added, so check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

Summer Immunization Events for All FCPS Students

Inspire Health Alliance, in partnership with FCPS, will be providing school-required immunizations this summer. Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to students or families. Registering families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still participate.

Visit the FCPS and Inspire Health Alliance Student Immunization Events webpage for dates, times, and locations. Additional event dates will be made available and shared four to five weeks prior to the event on the webpage. Additional immunization resources are also available.

Medication in the Health Room?

Please plan accordingly to pick up your student’s medications!  All medication must be collected on June 16, 2026, no later than 1:30pm, any medications left in the health room after that time will be destroyed.

**Per school policy-only parent/guardian may collect medication from the health room**
