Dear Wolftrap Families,
Let's Finish the School Year Strong!: We have SOL make up testing this week for students who have been working hard to complete testing!
Student attendance at school is important all year long, up to the last day of school. **Students will be in school at Wolftrap on June 17th, with a two-hour early release! Learn more about attendance resources. Attendance has an effect on student performance and on school accreditation. See how to:
- Check your child’s attendance record.
- Help your student stay engaged at school.
- Report future absences.
- Understand the FCPS school calendar.
🎉As we celebrate throughout the school, I have sent a note to teachers and staff, reminding them that explicit planning is key this time of year. We carefully plan for lessons and activities this time of year with attention to supervision. We strive to keep routines as regular as possible, with options for students to calm in a quiet area. We are still reporting discipline incidents in the SIS system, as warranted.
To help us out, please review daily/weekly schedules with your families so that students know what the schedule is for the day or week. Keep home routines as regular as possible, also, so that students are getting rest that they need. Also, please reach out to let us know if there is any support your family needs. Let’s celebrate and take care of each other!

Ms. Megan Tipton, Assistant Principal

School Board Adopts Fiscal Year 2027 Approved Budget: On May 21, the Fairfax County School Board unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Approved Budget, continuing FCPS’ commitment to sustaining excellence by prioritizing competitive compensation and strategic investments that support student success. The adopted budget reflects the division’s ongoing efforts to navigate a challenging fiscal environment shaped in part by chronic state underfunding and economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the budget maintains key investments and restores several reductions made during the prior fiscal year. Read about the FY 2027 Budget.
