Dear Woodley Hills Family,
It was wonderful seeing so many of our families come together this week for our multicultural night and family science night, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these events such a vibrant, joyful success. Celebrating the rich diversity of our community and watching our students explore hands-on science experiments alongside their loved ones truly highlights what makes our school so special.
As we head into next week, we have even more to celebrate with our spring band, strings, and chorus concert on June 3, where our talented young musicians will showcase all their hard work. We will also wrap up the week on a high note on June 5 as we proudly welcome back our former students, the graduating Mt. Vernon High School seniors, for their traditional final walkthrough to inspire our current students and celebrate this incredible milestone.

Did you know that FCPS offers a Family Resource Center?
The Family Resource Center provides webinars, consultations, a lending library, open house events, and helpful guides to support the success of all students — including those with learning challenges, special needs, and disabilities.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families and staff are encouraged to schedule an appointment for consultations, especially if an interpreter is needed.

School Board Adopts Fiscal Year 2027 Approved Budget
On May 21, the Fairfax County School Board unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Approved Budget, continuing FCPS’ commitment to sustaining excellence by prioritizing competitive compensation and strategic investments that support student success.
The adopted budget reflects the division’s ongoing efforts to navigate a challenging fiscal environment shaped in part by chronic state underfunding and economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the budget maintains key investments and restores several reductions made during the prior fiscal year. Read about the FY 2027 Budget.
