 🛍️💰 Our First Grade Market was open for business!
On Friday, our first graders brought their learning to life as they opened storefronts, sold projects they created, and used their knowledge of money, coins, and math to make purchases from their classmates. The creativity, ownership, and excitement on display were incredible to see!
A special thank you to our amazing First Grade Team for continuing this beloved annual tradition. This hands-on math unit gives students an authentic opportunity to apply their skills while building confidence, creativity, and real-world problem-solving experiences.
Field Day Volunteers
Field Day will be June 3! We are asking for help from our community members by signing up to volunteer.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade will have their field day in the morning from 9:20 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sign up to help with grades K-2 field day.
3rd grade through 6th grade will have their field day in the afternoon from 12 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Sign up to help with grades 3-6 field day.
Summer Online Campus Registration Closes June 5
Registration for summer classes with FCPS’ Online Campus will close on Friday, June 5. Email OnlineCampus@fcps.edu or call 703-503-7781 with any questions.

Middle School Transition
Join the Franklin Sherman PTA for a fun and informative virtual event on Tuesday, June 2 at 12 p.m.! Upper elementary families are invited to hear directly from two MHS students about what life at Longfellow Middle School is really like, including classes, teachers, schedules, friendships, and tips for a smooth transition. Don’t miss this chance to ask questions and get honest advice from students who’ve been there. Register and submit questions in advance.

When you see a staff member go above and beyond for your child or family, please take a moment to fill out the PAWS form to show your appreciation! We will then hand deliver your anonymous message to the staff member so they know they are appreciated. 😊
