Dear Navy Elementary Families,
We’ve officially crossed the finish line! As we head into this long weekend, I have some wonderful updates and a heartfelt thank you to share with our incredible community.
Our Standards of Learning (SOL) testing is now complete! I am thrilled to share that preliminary results show our students have performed exceptionally well. Their hard work and focus over the past few weeks have truly paid off.
We are currently in the final stages of data collection. Once this process is complete, we will be able to share official school-wide SOL data with you.
I am also excited to announce that our Navy Dads are stepping up in a big way! On June 6, we have 17 dedicated fathers coming out to the school to help refresh our campus. They will be:
Removing old picnic tables.
Mulching the school grounds to beautify our outdoor spaces.
We are so grateful for this hands-on support in keeping our school safe and looking its best!
Finally, thank you to all of our parents and guardians. Whether it was ensuring a good night's sleep, providing a healthy breakfast, or offering those extra words of encouragement, your support made a tangible difference in our testing success. It truly takes a village, and we have the best one around.
I hope you and your students enjoy a well-deserved, fabulous long weekend!
Warmly,
Jason, Kim, and Sarah

On Friday, May 8, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid provided an update on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Budget. FCPS receives the majority of its funding from the Fairfax County Government and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The Fairfax County Government recently adopted its FY 2027 Budget, and at the funding levels provided, there is currently a $28 million budget gap. In addition, the state budget has not been finalized. At last Thursday's School Board meeting, the superintendent proposed adjustments that would balance the FCPS budget.
Read Dr. Reid’s message to the community for more information on the budget process and budget priorities.
