Despite the rainy weather, our Kindergarteners had the sweetest time at Shlagel Farms on Friday! From picking fresh strawberries to sharing smiles and laughter, the day was filled with fun, adventure, and wonderful memories together.
Hi Bailey’s Tigers!
We hope that our community is enjoying the long weekend. We cannot believe we are already heading into the last week of May! We have a short week ahead, as there is no school on Monday and Wednesday for the Memorial Day and Eid al-Adha holidays, and no school on Tuesday for a teacher workday. We can't wait to see our students back in the building on Thursday and Friday. Attendance is still so important every day, even on short weeks, because every minute of learning time is valuable!
We also have some exciting events to look forward to, as Field Day has been rescheduled to this upcoming Thursday and Friday due to the weather. Please check the schedule carefully to confirm your child’s date and time:
On Thursday, May 28, Kindergarten will be out on the field from 9:15–11:15 AM, followed by 1st Grade Session A (classes: Giacomo, Paredes, Snyder, Rodriguez, Rabinovitz, and Viera) from 1:00–3:00 PM.
On Friday, May 29, 2nd Grade will be out on the field from 9:30–11:30 AM, followed by 1st Grade Session B (classes: Glovier, Holmes, Iriarte-Dubon, Meeker, and Speicher) from 1:00–3:00 PM.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend, and we will see you on Thursday!
🧡Satonya Dews, Principal
💙Tracey Brown Rice, Assistant Principal
🧡Keith Downing, Assistant Principal
💙Christie Fuller, Assistant Principal
A friendly reminder to parents that there will be no school on the following days:
- Monday, May 25 – Memorial Day
- Tuesday, May 26 – Teacher Work Day
- Wednesday, May 27 – Eid al-Adha Observance
Students will return to school on Thursday, May 28. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back soon!

Optional Summer Learning with Devices at Home
We're committed to providing every student with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive both during the school year and over the summer.
This summer, all students in FCPS will be allowed to check out a technology device that will support continued growth. This will ensure continued access to tools such as ST Math, Lexia and Benchmark Universe that allow students to work at their own pace and level. Programs like these adapt to each child's needs, providing extra support in areas where they're building skills and advancing them when they're ready for more challenges. This opportunity will allow students to continue their personalized learning at home, to develop digital literacies and important routines around managing their technology.
If you would like this opportunity for your child, please complete this Google Form.
You will then receive confirmation from our School Based Technology Specialist, Nicole Sandrowicz.
Have questions? Please contact Nicole Sandrowicz on Talking Points or through email at nesandrowicz@fcps.edu.

Our first graders wrote heartfelt letters to their chicks as they said goodbye before the chicks were relocated to their new home on a farm. This special experience gave students the opportunity to reflect on the care, love, and responsibility they shared throughout their classroom journey together.
As we head into the final weeks of the school year, we want to share an update regarding our school Boutique. At this time, we are not taking any further donations for the remainder of the school year. We truly appreciate the incredible generosity our families have shown this year in supporting our students!
