🥰From Sangster’s Family Liaison
As we roll into summer, I wanted to remind you that if you have a PCS on the horizon and would like support navigating your child’s school transition, I’m available to help. No two PCS experiences are the same, and every family’s journey looks a little different. I’m happy to help any family moving this summer – military, civilian, DOD, or State Department.
Some ways I can support you include:
- Helping you build an educational binder to tell your child’s school story and keep important records organized
- Researching schools and programs at your next duty station
- Helping connect you with staff here at FCPS and at your new location
- Comparing curriculum, services, and supports between FCPS and your next school district
- Being a listening ear during what can often feel like a stressful season
I also give great hugs and love coffee, so I’m always happy to meet outside of school to chat.
Additionally, if your family is currently experiencing a deployment or anticipates one soon, reach out. I’d love to stay connected over the summer and keep you updated on resources, events, and support opportunities for military-connected families. You are not alone in this process! Email Stacy Huisman

💥Faster Visitor Check-in
Download the Raptor Safe App, set it up at home, and save time when signing in at the office to volunteer or attend a meeting!
Time signing in to visit a classroom, volunteer or attend a meeting:
- using your license: 2-3 minutes
- using the Raptor app: 25 seconds
Search for "Raptor Safe" in your play store. Here are instructions on how to set it up
A few notes for registration in the app: No code is needed (so skip that step), all state driver's licenses are accepted, as well as foreign IDs and passports (as long as they are in English).
📚Help the Library!
All library books must be returned by Thursday, May 28.
For lost or missing books:
Purchase a replacement copy and send it to the main office labeled with your student’s full name and “Library Replacement,” OR if the book is either unavailable or too expensive, email me at sloden@fcps.edu for the replacement cost. Payment can then be made via MySchoolBucks.
Volunteers needed to help pack up the library books on Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9. Sign up here to volunteer!
