Katherine Johnson Middle School PTA President
We are getting close to wrapping up the school year and wrapping up our PTA year, but we are not over yet. One important activity for PTA as we wind up our year is to hold our PTA election for next year. We will be voting at this meeting. If you can't attend the meeting, please vote online at: 2026-2027 KJMS PTA Executive Committee Election Form We need a quorum of people voting for compliance purposes.
We wanted to share a little about each candidate:
Colleen Coggins, running for PTA President
She is a U.S. Air Force veteran, Systems Engineer, and dedicated community advocate. Since 2020, she has served in both local and Fairfax County Council PTA leadership—including two years as Secretary and three years as President at Eagle View ES. Her heart is really in the PTA, driven by her role as a parent to a rising 7th grader, a deep admiration for educators, and a love of creativity and community. Thank you for the opportunity to continue serving our children and families.
Jill Mossman, running for PTA Treasurer
Jill has worked in federal law enforcement with computer forensics for over 20 years and bring that level of dedication to the PTA and the community. She served as PTA President at Willow Springs Elementary during 2 years in the pandemic and have served as PTA President at KJMS for 2025-2026. She looks forward to continuing to support the staff and students in the role as Treasurer.
Renee Nunez, running for PTA Secretary
Renee has stepped up this year as an amazing volunteer and PTA Secretary. She has volunteered to help decorate the staff lounge several times. She took over the role of PTA Secretary mid-year and is excited about the next year.
Family Resource Center
The Family Resource Center (PRC) offers free workshops (webinars), consultations, a lending library, and resources to help adults support the success of all students, including those with learning challenges, special needs, and disabilities.
