Dear Sleepy Hollow School Community,
As we move further into May, I want to take a moment to celebrate the hard work and perseverance of our students and staff during the completion of the SOL state testing for students in grades 3–5. Our students demonstrated focus, determination, and resilience throughout the testing process, and we are proud of the effort they put forth each day. Students who were not successful on their first attempt will be provided opportunities for targeted instruction and support before participating in a retake assessment. We remain committed to helping every child achieve success and confidence in their learning.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful school community for the incredible generosity shown during Teacher Appreciation Week. Our staff truly felt valued and supported through the thoughtful gifts, exciting raffles, kind notes, and the delicious Thai lunch from Duangrat's that was provided. Your continued partnership and appreciation mean so much to our teachers and staff members who work tirelessly for our students each day.
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, we ask for your continued support in reinforcing positive student behavior. While excitement naturally grows as summer approaches, our expectations for respectful and responsible behavior remain the same in all settings, including recess, the cafeteria, hallways, and classrooms. This also applies when students have a substitute teacher. We encourage students to continue demonstrating kindness, self-control, and respect for others so that we can finish the school year strong and maintain a safe, positive learning environment for everyone.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together, we will make these final weeks of school both successful and memorable for our students.
With appreciation, Principal Vega

Screening for Subject Specific
and Part-Time Services
Students can be screened for subject specific and part time AAP services at any time in the school year. Inthe spring, schools review data on all students to determine services for the start of the next school year.
FCPS Caters to Food Allergies
May is Food Allergy Awareness Month. The FCPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) works to ensure every student has access to safe and nutritious school meals. Since 1 in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, FNS works closely with families to provide reasonable meal accommodations for students whose medical needs affect what they can eat at school.
To support students appropriately and safely, families are asked to submit medical documentation to FNS from a U.S. licensed health care provider so we can tailor meals to each child’s needs.
Learn more about the documentation required and the steps to develop a safe menu for students.

Call the phone line with questions about your child’s education or FCPS, and someone will help connect you to resources or arrange for you to speak to the appropriate school employee. Learn more about family information phone lines.
