PTO

Message from Mrs. Briggs

On behalf of the entire staff at Spring Hill, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our PTO and parent community for the "Rock Star" Staff Appreciation Week.

Our staff was blown away by the generosity, the treats, and the overwhelming kindness shown by our families. It is no secret that we have an elite team of educators here, but seeing our community treat them like the superstars they are was the highlight of our month.

Thank you for making our staff feel so loved!

Class Placements for 2026-2027

Our staff will be working on tentative class groupings this spring, with classroom assignments finalized in mid-August.  As we make these placements, we consider many factors including individual student information, teacher input, and social relationships. Every class will have a blend of children with diverse needs, personalities, and learning interests. Due to the many factors we must consider in creating classroom placements, including the staffing of our teachers, requests for a specific teacher will not be honored.

If you have information that you believe is pertinent to your child’s placement for next year, please complete this link  by Friday, May 22 for it to be taken into consideration. There is no need to complete the form if you do not have any information you would like us to consider.

If your child will NOT be attending Spring Hill ES or his/her base middle school next year, please email Ms. Kim at ykim1@fcps.edu.

Unfortunately, due to timelines, we are unable to accept survey input after May 22nd.  Thank you!

Allergy

May is Food Allergy Awareness Month!

Did you know? 1 in 13 children (2 children in every classroom!) and 1 in 10 adults in the U.S. manage food allergy. Food allergy is a disease and reactions range from mild symptoms to severe, potentially life-threatening reactions such as anaphylaxis. Every 10 seconds, food allergy sends a patient to the emergency department.

How can you help? Learn common allergens and signs of severe reaction. Always show kindness and respect. 9 foods cause about 90% of all food allergy reactions in the U.S including milk, eggs, peanut, tree nuts, soy, wheat, sesame, fish, and crustacean shellfish.

Myth: Food allergies are not that serious.

Fact: Food allergies can be a life-threatening disease. They are more than just an itch or a stomachache. Food allergy can cause symptoms such  as hives, coughing, swelling of the face and tongue, difficulty breathing, and loss of consciousness.
