Parent Input Form

Parent Input Form is Open!

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, our parent input form is available here.  We appreciate sharing constructive feedback that teachers and administration can use in helping make class groupings. Sharing the personality style that best matches your child’s needs is more helpful than names, as sometimes staffing changes! The form will close at the end of next week!

Dr. Reid's Visit
Explora Vision

Superintendent Reid Visits WSES!

Last week, Superintendent Reid joined Principal Taylor for a tour of our school. She was struck by the "positive spirit" of our community, specifically praising our colorful hallways and the engaged learning happening in our classrooms. A special highlight was her meeting with our ExploraVision winners, where she commended their critical thinking and purposeful solutions to global challenges. Way to go, Foxes!

Explora Vision

First Place Winners from WSES!

Two fifth graders, Aanya Roy and Keya Pawar, are first place winners in the national ExploraVision competition. Their winning project, Bug Botics: Technology Meets Sustainable Farming, earned one of the highest honors in K–12 STEM for its creative approach to real-world agricultural challenges.

As national champions, Aanya and Keya will each receive:

  • A $10,000 U.S. Series EE savings bond (at maturity).

  • An all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the ExploraVision Awards Gala.

  • Recognition as rising leaders in the fields of science and engineering.

This impressive achievement highlights the power of critical thinking and purposeful innovation in the next generation. Well done, Aanya and Keya!

Food Allergies

FCPS Caters to Food Allergies

May is Food Allergy Awareness Month. The FCPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) works to ensure every student has access to safe and nutritious school meals. Since 1 in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, FNS works closely with families to provide reasonable meal accommodations for students whose medical needs affect what they can eat at school.

To support students appropriately and safely, families are asked to submit medical documentation to FNS from a U.S. licensed health care provider so we can tailor meals to each child’s needs.

Learn more about the documentation required and the steps to develop a safe menu for students
